Hi, everyone! In my last post I raved about three new rich, warm shades of Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows in my collection and today I'm featuring these lovelies in a makeup look! Though the title of this post was inspired by one of my favourite shows ever, Twin Peaks, the makeup itself isn't inspired by the series (perhaps a look for another time!), but rather by the bold, fiery shades of shadows that I selected. The look is very warm and features of mix of matte, satin, and metallic finishes. It was incredibly fun to put together!
As I mentioned, the eyes were all about my new Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. I started by packing ME740 Magma, a warm reddened coral with a gold sheen, all over my lid as well as along the lower lash line. I then applied M846 Morello Cherry, a deep, matte berry red, to the outer corners of my eye, blending up into the crease. For definition, I swept shade M738 Auburn, an ultra warm mid-tone matte brown, in the crease, as well as lightly along the lower lashes to line the eye. To soften the crease and as a transition, I applied Inglot Eye Shadow #357, a neutral mid-tone brown, above the crease, and then highlighted the eye with Artist Shadow in ME512 Golden Beige, a gilded ivory, on my brow bone and inner corners. I paired the red shadows with the most beautiful blackened plum eyeliner out there, Chanel Le Crayon Kohl in Rouge Noir.
I was very indecisive about the lips, so I ended up blending several shades together. I knew I wanted them to be warm and bold, yet to not overpower the eyes. I mixed shades of orange, hot pink, and red as a base (courtesy of Milani Colour Statement Lipsticks in Sweet Nectar and Flamingo Pose and Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus), then added two of the Artist Shadows over top for added definition. I applied Morello Cherry along the outer edges and patted Magma in the centre of my lips. Finally, I wanted my cheeks to maintain the warm theme, but not wanting every inch of my face to be red, I opted for a tangerine blush, MAC Satin Blush in Modern Mandarin.

And a few more shots of the look:
I don't wear red eye shadows often, but boy did I enjoy wearing these shades! I felt like a fierce, fiery goddess all day long. And I have to shout from the rooftops once again that these Artist Shadows are so bold, smooth, blendable, true-to-colour, and long wearing. They do not disappoint one bit!
So, in summary, red eye shadows are wearable! Wear some, pronto! ;)

DeleteYour eye makeup looks gorgeous, here! I've never actually tried any red eyeshadows (I love pinks though). I have super red skin, so I tend to steer clear of that colour. But the colour looks amazing with your complexion.

Thanks so much, Katherine! My skin is red as well, so I only wear red tones when my foundation is fuller coverage :) Pink shades would look great on you!
