Hey, everyone! Before I get to today's post, I want to announce the winner of my 100 Follower Giveaway. There were 43 valid entries, and the randomizer selected entry #37. The corresponding lucky lady was Becky L. from Miscriant Lifestye Blog!! I'll be contacting you shortly to confirm the giveaway win and arrange shipping of the prize. Congrats!!
And a huge thank you to everyone who participated in my giveaway. Watching my readership grow has been an absolutele thrill! All of your enthusiasm and support is so very much appreciated. You're the reason why I continue with the blog and do my best to make it great. Thanks so much!!
Now onto today's entry, which is all about makeup storage! Recently, my trusty train case (see it, here) was getting a bit crowded, so I decided to re-arrange my collection in a larger train case that was currently sitting around, less than half-full, housing some of my older makeup products. As a result of switching to the new storage, I'm now able to keep all of my favourite goodies in one place. I still smile every time I open it! :)
This train case is now home to all of my blushes, eye shadows, and face products (e.g., foundation, bronzer, primer). I keep my other items (lip products, brushes, and eyeliners) in separate containers for now. The re-organization has let me re-discover some of my old favourites and arrange them in such a way that I now see them every day. So many lovely shades to choose from!
Here are some closer-up shots of the individual sections:
This section houses my loose eye shadows (e.g., MAC Pigments- all in old jars, that's how long ago I got them!- and Make Up For Ever Star Powders), a couple of NARS Eye Shadow Duos, and a few random eye shadow singles from brands like NYX, Shu Uemura, Stila, and Urban Decay.
This section holds my cream eye shadows (including two Paint Pots from MAC that I completely forgot I had!), cream eye liners (including a few Fluidlines from MAC) and a couple random loose eye shadows (including a veeery old Show-Off from BeneFit- anyone remember when they came in the long vials??).
Now onto the blush section! Here's an aerial view of my blush collection- can you spot which brands I have, based on the packaging? Some are quite recognizable!
A view of the blushes from the front- I messed them up a bit so you could have a peek at a few specific shades. As you can see, I'm a huge fan of NARS, Illamasqua, Tarte, MAC, Sleek, and Chanel when it comes to blushes. All top-notch!
This section features my single eye shadows (mostly MAC) and some of the products I use daily (like my beloved Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and Laura Mercier Eye Shadow in Sandstone). Wanted to keep them all handy!
The bottom of my train case holds all of my eye shadow palettes, mascaras, and face products. This shot shows some of my foundations (including the amazing Revlon ColourStay Whipped Creme Makeup), bronzers (Hard Candy Hula Hula is my favourite!), cream blushes (NYC makes some great ones for a steal) and the adorable Hello Kitty Parisienne Palette.
This photo shows the majority of my eye shadow palettes. They're a bit harder to see, but there are several custom MAC palettes, a few palettes from Urban Decay, and some gems from Stila, Shu Uemura, Tokidoki, NYX, and Bobbi Brown. I am a total sucker for eye shadow palettes, and this is proof!
And one final super-sized close-up:
Overall, I'm so happy with this re-organization of my stash! I've been collecting makeup with passion and enthusiasm for years, so it's so gratifying to see all of my favourite goodies arranged neatly in one common home.
How do you store your makeup? See any products in my train case that piqued your interest? I'm happy to provide more details about any of the items you spotted :)
Cheers! xoxo
EEEEEKKKK!!!! I am so excited - thank you so much Jen! I used to have a kaboodle similar to the train case but it eventually broke under the weight of all the makeup :( It did last 15 years though!
ReplyDeleteTake care and thanks again - this has made my weekend!

DeleteAnd I definitely had a Caboodle when I was younger- it may have also broken under the weight of my collection ;)
Thanks again for following and for entering my giveaway!

Thanks, Tallia! I'm happy that I'm able to keep my makeup organized, because the rest of my apartment isn't as neat ;)
DeleteLooks nice and organized, I'm impressed! I have a small(er) traincase from Sephora I keep everything in - I don't have much of a system within it though. Everything I use the most just sort of lurks near the top :) (although I'm happy because my new Naked 2 palette fits inside perfectly!) xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kori! I'm hoping I'm able to keep the train case as neat as it's looking right now, but there's no guarantee ;)
DeleteWow, you've got a wonderful & professional case..I like how you've organized it its neat, I wish my mini bag could be this neat!

Thanks, Mary! Believe it or not, it's actually a Caboodles brand train case. I bought it at Wal-Mart around 10 years ago, but I bet they still make ones like these! It's great quality and definitely more affordable than other professional train cases :)
DeleteLooks so organized, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a joy when you open your 'something' (where you keep your make up I mean, I keep mine in drawers) and find everything so well organized ^^
I am still to buy a traincase like that!
