Look of the Day: These Days

Hi, everyone! If you've been peeking around the blog lately, you'll know that I recently bought some new makeup items from Sephora and The Detox Market. In an effort to delve into my new goodies, I attempted to create a makeup look that used them all, while capturing a summery, August-like vibe. Here's what I came up with!

The focus of the look is definitely the eyes, thanks to new acquisitions from Josie Maran and Marc Jacobs. I started by applying the absolutely stunning Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow in Maui Teal to the outer half of my lid, blending up to the crease. I also swept it lightly along the outer half of my lower lash line for some extra pop. To contrast the vibrant blue and add some sparkle, I patted Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Honey Bunny on the inner half of my lid, as well as on my brow bone and inner corners of the eye. The glimmer really is a thing of beauty! To pull the eye look together, I reached for a few of my favourite MAC and Inglot eye shadows: I swept Inglot #357 (a matte taupe) in the crease for some definition and blurred the outer corners of the teal with a mix of MAC Steamy and Humid

For the cheeks, I applied a generous helping of Too Faced Love Flush Blush in I Will Always Love You on the apples of my cheeks, blending up to the temples. It really is the most lovely golden peachy melon shade! I finished the look with my brand new (and perhaps new favourite) nude lipstick: Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner in These Days. Its peachy golden undertones make it incredibly flattering and wearable, plus the name is inspired by one of my favourite moody songs from Nico. Can't go wrong with that!

And a few more shots of the look:

I have to say that all of the new products I featured in this look are true gems; couldn't be happier with my picks! And I am so digging this peachy teal combination. The mermaid feel really makes me want to hold onto summer with all my strength!

What are your favourite summer colour combinations? Have you fallen in love with any new products lately?

Have an incredible weekend!

  3. Such a colourful look! I love aqua shades on the eyes during the summertime. I have a Lancome palette that I adore with teal and aqua shades. I also really like purple and of course my shimmery neutrals in the summer. XX

  14. Wow, I'm completely impressed with this line! Usually the vegan and cruelty free lines are on the expensive side, so go them for not going wild with that price point. Also, they're so pigmented! I LOVE that! One of my favorite lipsticks is from wet n wild (which goes for less than $2) and I'll be a forever devotee because the color goes on exactly like in the tube. This was so impressive. And such fun summer shades :)
