K-Beauty Holiday Specials (+ My Wishlist) from Take Good Care!

Hi, everyone! Long-term readers of the blog will know that I've been gushing about my low-key (sometimes not so low-key) obsession with Korean skin care and makeup for years. One of my very first blog posts over 5 years ago was a primer on BB Creams (see old, embarrassing post, here) and I've shared more sheet mask selfies on Instagram than I can count. So when I learned that there was a brand new Canadian-based(!) online K-Beauty shop on the scene, my interest was piqued. Take Good Care is a website focusing on a curated selection of the most popular and effective brands and products from the Korean beauty market. The ranges they offer include COSRX and Mizon (which I've seen on so many skin care blogger's social media feeds), staples like Skinfood, Dr. Jart+, and Missha, and newer, more obscure (but equally tempting) brands like Thank You Farmer and Soroci

Since I know that many of you are also ultra into Korean cosmetics, I thought you'd want to know that from December 5th to 21st, Take Good Care is offering K-Beauty brands newly available in Canada at special prices for the holidays.

Here are some of their featured specials:

Soroci Complete Set
The complete line of Soroci products packaged for $125 (Originally $185)

Blossom Jeju Gift With Purchase
Receive a set of 3 Blossom Jeju sheet masks ($24 value) with the purchase of any Blossom Jeju toner, serum or cream

Thank You Farmer Bonus Cotton Pads
Buy the Thank You Farmer Back To Iceland Cleansing Water and receive the TYF cotton pads for free ($5 value)

My Wishlist
And to spark your interest further, I thought I'd also share my top picks from Take Good Care- those goodies that are most topping my KBeauty wishlist at the moment!

COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
"COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser was created out of community demand for a gentle low pH cleanser. This truly gentle cleanser has a mildly acidic pH of 5.5 similar to that of healthy skin. Despite its name, the cleanser can be used both morning and night. While formulated for sensitive skin, this is great for all skin types".

I love that this cleanser is appropriate for sensitive skin but also formulated at an appropriate pH that will effectively cleanse and treat the skin!

COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
"COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid is a leave on chemical exfoliant that is clinically proven to reduce the formation of blackheads and excess sebum. Beta Hydroxy Acid is oil based to effectively seep into pores and loosen away dead skin cells and sticky sebum to promote healthy skin cell regeneration. This product is formulated with 4% BHA, willow bark water, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Anyone with roughness, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and acne prone skin will benefit from adding the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid to their routine. With regular use, expect to see a reduction in clogged pores and smoother, more radiant skin".

I have seen this product gushed about on Instagram many times and it tempts me personally because my skin loves BHA. Salicylic acid works wonders to keep my sensitive, acne-prone skin clear and irritation-free and this formula in particular looks fab cus it's alcohol-free and has a higher concentration of BHA than other products I've tried.

COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads
"COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads are a best selling skin care staple that will treat your blemishes and reduce future breakouts. Each convenient pre-soaked pad is saturated with a gentle solution to sweep away pore clogging dirt and sticky sebum without stripping the skin of moisture. The main ingredient, willow bark water, is a natural and gentler source of salicylic acid that has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, soothing and conditioning properties. This is a must have for those with oily, congested pores or acne prone skin".

Pads like this have been a staple in acne-care for ages, but typical versions are usually rife with alcohol and other irritants. I appreciate that these are alcohol-free and feature anti-inflammatory and soothing ingredients to care for skin while treating breakouts.

Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Soothing Mask"
"Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Soothing Mask is soaked in a hydrating essence containing lavender extract. This sheet mask will have an instant cooling effect to sooth sensitive skin and is suitable for all skin types".

I love a good sheet mask and this calming, hydrating option is right up my alley! It promises to feel cooling and soothing on the skin and also includes lavender, an ingredient that always seems to balance my finicky skin nicely.

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence
"Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence contains a high concentration of saccharomyces ferment filtrate (80%) to improve the overall health of your skin. Saccharomyces is a fermented yeast that is naturally rich in B vitamins and peptides. This essence also contains sodium hyaluronate to add moisture to the skin and niacinamide for cell regeneration. With daily use, The First Treatment Essence will revive the skin’s tone and texture, enhance elasticity and strengthen its barrier function for healthier and more radiant skin".

Essences are still all the rage in skin care these days and I've heard tons of raves for this one. I love that it's fragrance- and alcohol-free and that it promises amazing anti-aging benefits via peptides and soothing and regenerating properties courtesy of niacinamide. It sounds like quite the wonder product!

Another neat offer is that Take Good Care has partnered with Toronto-based artist Flo Leung to create a limited edition sticker set that features (in truly adorable form) beauty ingredients, Korean treats, and the store's cutie of a pup, Logan. The set will be available as of mid-December and will be included with all orders from the site, while supplies last!

If  you're thinking of gifting some KBeauty to your loved ones, Take Good Care also offers complimentary gift wrapping on all of their value sets and will be offering a selection of discounted gift-wrapped stocking stuffers throughout the month of December. Stay tuned to their Instagram page for these ongoing deals!

  4. Hi Jen! I love the idea of layering (totally saved my super dry skin!), but I was never able to find the products from Korean brands that actually worked. I didn't try very many, though, but right now sticking to Sephora bought skincare, from many different brands. It definitely works, but I would be curious to see what you think about the brands you got.
