Hi, everyone! We're a week into December- when did that happen!? With the holidays quickly approaching, my penchant for bold, festive makeup has also returned with a vengeance. Not that I shy away from dramatic makeup the rest of the year, but come Christmastime all I want to sport are vivid, red lips, bold winged liner, lots of lashes, and all the highlighter.
I was lucky enough to receive some best-selling staples from Inglot recently, and was thrilled to see that they'd be perfect to help create a classic, festive, glamorous holiday makeup look. Black liner and red lips, here I come!
I received HD Lip Tint Matte #12**, a liquid lipstick in a stunning classic balanced red, AMC Eyeliner Gel #77, a deep true black, and O2M Breathable Nail Enamel #602**, a pinky violet nude.
Here are swatches of the three on my inner arm (MAC NC15 skin tone):
And as a brief ode to the long-wearing nature of the Lip Tint Matte and the Eyeliner Gel formulas, here are my swatches after wiping my arm fairly forcefully with a face wipe. Not bad!
And here's the glam holiday look that I created with these new Inglot goodies!
To achieve subtle definition with shadow, I first applied Inglot Eye Shadow Pearl #397**, a shimmery champagne pink, all over the lid up to the brow bones and on the inner corners of the eye. I then defined the crease with Inglot Eye Shadow Matte #329**, a deep matte neutral brown, blending it upwards and into the outer corners of the eye. Then I started with the eyeliner- one of the main focuses of the look! I first used Inglot Kohl Pencil 01**, a true black, smudging it into my upper and lower lash lines and lower waterline. Next, I reached for the AMC Eyeliner Gel #77**, applying it with a small pointed brush (the Kevyn Aucoin Concealer Brush). I swept the gel liner upward and outward to create a wing, also dragging the liner down onto the outer half of the lower lash line for some extra drama. I finished the eyes with two coats of Inglot False Lash Effect Mascara in Black**.
Sticking with the Inglot theme, I reached for one of my favourite glowy blushes, Inglot Fusion Blush & Illuminator #203, which pairs a satin coral pink with a lighter shimmery peach hue. For some extra glow, I used the Kat von D Metal Crush Eye Shadow in Thunderstruck, applying it as a highlighter on my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and lightly on my forehead and chin.
For the lips, I first used Annabelle Stay Sharp Waterproof Lip Liner in Glam Red**, then coated my lips with Inglot's HD Lip Tint Matte #12**. The formula is super smooth and lightweight and I love the classic red hue- not too orange or blue. Totally balanced and festive!
In typical blogger life fashion, I created this look on a Sunday afternoon (as I usually don't go this glam for work), after which all I had to do was some grocery shopping. So I rocked this party look down the produce aisle like nobody's business! ;)
I have to say that Inglot's AMC Eyeliner Gel might be my favourite of all gel/cream eyeliners on the market- the colour saturation and pigmentation is top-notch, it applies so smoothly, and is so, so long wearing! I was also way impressed with the formula of the HD Lip Tint Matte- the wear time was also impressive and the formula was light, smooth, and even wearing. Wins all around! I'm sure I'll be wearing both of these products lots over the holidays.
