Since the eyes and lips were both going to be colourful for this look, I wanted the skin to look flawless, yet natural. I evened out my complexion with my much-loved Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in B10 and added a coral flush to my cheeks thanks to Chanel Joues Contraste in Frivole (notice a Chanel theme!?). I also created a subtle highlight with a light touch of BeneFit Watts Up on the tops of my cheek bones.
Now onto the stars of the show. The eyes were all about Tisse Fantaisie, a truly fantastical combination of coral, frost, olive, and bronze. I started by applying the golden olive hue on the inner corners of my eye, blending up to the crease. I then applied the pinky coral shade on the centre of my lid, blending upwards as well. I added some definition by applying the warm bronze shadow to the outer corner of the eye and brightened the eye by applying the frosty pinkish-white to my brow bones and inner corners. The finishing touch was a mix of the olive and bronze shades to create a soft liner on upper and lower lash lines.
To complement the lush, tropical eyes, I stained my lips with the gorgeous Rouge Allure Velvet in La Petillante. The texture is velvety (as the name suggests) and lightweight, allowing for a subtle wash or a full-on bold lip. La Petillante is a warm, fully-saturated vivid rose that is undoubtedly bright, yet incredibly wearable. It just screams Spring!
Here is a shot of the two new products that went into this look, followed by a breakdown of everything I used!
(From Chanel Spring 2015; L-R): Rouge Allure Velvet in La Petillante and Les Quatres Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Tisse Fantaisie |
Foundation: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet B10
Concealer: MAC Select Cover-Up NC20
Powder: Inglot HD Illuminizing Pressed Powder #402 (lightly all over)
Highlighter: BeneFit Watt's Up
Blush: Chanel Joues Contraste in Frivole
Brows: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion Original formula
Eye Shadows: from Chanel les Quatres Ombres in Tisse Fantaisie: shimmering green shade (on inner corners), coral pink (on eyelid, blended up to the crease), bronze (on outer corners, blended into the crease, green and bronze shades mixed (applied lightly to lower lash line and heavily on upper lash line), and shimmery white (applied as a highlight on inner corners and brow bone)
Mascara: Clinique High Impact in Black
Lips: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Petillante
And a few more shots of the look:
Gosh, I really am so happy with my February picks! The shades are lush and colourful, embodying Spring perfectly, yet are also so flattering and wearable. Yes, you can wear coral eyes and a bright pink lip and still look polished! The texture of Chanel products are always exquisite, these goodies being no exception. I've been reaching for both the shadow quad and the lipstick quite often (partially as a means of shaking my fist at this winter weather) and can't imagine this infatuation fading as the temperatures gradually rise.
Tempted by either of these Chanel Spring items? What are your favourite shades to wear in Springtime (or when you're dreaming of Spring)?
Thanks for stopping by! xo
