Lipsticks for... When you want to go Nude

Hi, everyone! So far, I've provided round-ups of my vampy, coral, and hot pink lipstick collections. Today's post is all about nudes! I actually don't wear nude shades often, as I usually prefer a nice pop of colour on the lips. Also, because I'm fair, nude shades can have a tendency to wash me out- never a nice look! Despite this, I was surprised to find that I had a pretty substantial collection of nude lipsticks. The ones I've featured here are the nude shades that I find to be quite wearable on my neutral-warm, fair, NC20-ish skin. They range from retro peach to pale pinky mauve. Hope you can spot one that piques your interest!

(L-R): Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte in Tender Peach, MAC Amplified Lipstick in Warm Me Up, Hard Candy Painted Lady Lip Colour in Perfect 10, MAC Lustre Lipstick in Viva Glam V, Revlon ColourBurst Lipstick in Rosy Nude, MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty, Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, Lush Emotional Brilliance Liquid Lipstick in Perspective

Here are some closeups:

And some swatches!

Luckily, I've featured most of these lipsticks in past posts, so look out for the links below!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte in Tender Peach is a pale, warm-toned, slightly retro (think mid-60s) peach. A super unique shade with gorgeous packaging. Not necessarily the most versatile shade, but it's perfect for creating a mod-inspired look. You can see a review and photos of it here!
MAC Amplified Lipstick in Warm Me Up is a highly pigmented brownish-caramel beige with a nearly matte finish and a warm hue. You can see me wearing it (mixed with MAC Viva Glam V) here.
Hard Candy Painted Lady Lip Colour in Perfect 10 is a sheer, slightly cool-toned pinky nude shade. Not normally a colour I'd go for, but the transparent finish make it incredibly wearable! You can see a review and pictures of it here!
MAC Lustre Lipstick in Viva Glam V is one of my all-time favourite MAC lipsticks; it's perhaps the only lipstick I've completely used up and re-purchased. That's saying a lot! It's a lovely semi-sheer beige pink with subtle gold shimmer. You can see a couple blog posts that have featured it, here and here!
Revlon ColourBurst Lipstick in Rosy Nude is a warm, versatile, mid-tone pinky brown with nearly opaque coverage and a slightly shiny finish. Revlon really makes some excellent, wearable nudes! You can see a review and photos of it here.
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty is a highly brown-toned pink with a semi-sheer, moisture-rich formula. I find this shade to be quite '90s (remember when brown lipstick was in?), but with a more modern, wearable finish. I quite like it! You can see me wearing it (topped with a shimmery peachy-gold lip gloss) here.
Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle is a neutral-warm pink with slight brown undertones and a shiny finish. It isn't totally opaque, so it's quite soft and pretty!
Lush Emotional Brilliance Liquid Lipstick in Perspective is among my favourites in the Emotional Brilliance line. It's a lovely pinky-mauve that is subdued and surprisingly versatile. The formula is opaque with a slight shine. You can see me wearing it, here!

And a few more photos for good measure!

There you have it! This post has definitely inspired me to take my nude lipsticks for a spin more often. The ones I have are quite soft and versatile, and offer an excellent excuse to create a dramatic eye!

What are some of your favourite nude lipstick shades? Any of the ones I featured catching your eye?

Thanks for reading! :)
