Look of the Day: Hip to Be a Square in Sydney

Hi, everyone! Time for the third and final installment of my Australian drugstore makeup Look of the Day series (and yes, another cheesy Australian-inspired title). As I mentioned in a few previous posts, I recently completed  an international makeup swap with Leah of Temporary Princess. She sent so many lovely Australian goodies my way and it's been so much fun testing them out! Today's look is all about shimmery tones of pink and purple and uses the stunning and versatile Sportsgirl Hip to be Square palette. It's a beaut!

For the eyes, I gravitated towards the gold, plummy, and taupe shades from the palette, placing the lighter shades on the centre or the lid and creating definition in the crease and outer corner with the smokier shades. The shadows really blended with ease! I lined the eyes subtly with the Designer Brands Australia Kohl in Black and gave some glow to the cheeks with the cool, shimmery candy pink blush from the Hip to be Square palette.

For the lips, I first started with a sheer layer of a beauty of a lip crayon, the Model's Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Tint in Candy Licious. I then topped it off with a cool-toned fuchsia gloss from the Hip to be Square palette.

Here's a look at the items I used!

And a full breakdown of everything I used in the look:

Foundation: By Terry Cover Expert in #1
Concealer: BeneFit Fake-Up in Light (under eyes) and MAC Select Cover-Up in NC20 (on blemishes and redness)
Powder: MAC Blot Powder in Medium (concentrated on t-zone) and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (dusted lightly all over)
Contour: Kevin Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in Medium

Blush: pink blush from the Sportsgirl Hip to Be Square palette

Brows: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Eye Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original
Eye Shadow: Mix of shimmery plum and ivory shades from the Sportsgirl Hip to be Square palette

Eyeliner: Designer Brands Australia Kohl in Black

Mascara: d.j.v. Beautinizer Volume Lash

Lipstick: Model's Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Lip Tint in Candy Licious

And a couple more shots of the look:

Thanks again to Leah for all of the amazing Australian drugstore goodies! The swap was incredibly fun and I've been having a ball playing with all my new products :)

Have you ever tried Australian cosmetics? What are your favourite brands?

Thanks for reading! xo
