Biggest Lipstick Ban Temptations

Hi, everyone! If you've been following my blog for the past few months, you'll know that I've pledged myself to a formidable task- no new lipstick purchases for the rest of 2014. A challenge indeed! Amazingly, I've held strong so far. I've acquired a few new lipsticks via swaps, but I've been completely able to resist otherwise. Hoping for continued strength!

That said, there have been several new product release of late that have been tempting my will power in the most serious of ways. And in the ultimate act of restraint, I'm featuring them all here and then renewing my resolve not to cave!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet
I've heard so many raves about these so far. Comfortable, matte colour that wears like crazy and comes in a beautiful range of shades. I'm especially tempted by Pink Pong, a cool-toned vivid fuchsia.

YSL Babydoll Kiss Blush
A true multi-tasker in ultra chic packaging and a wonderful variety of lovely shades. I've swatched these in-store and the formula is bold, but blendable. So pretty!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain
These have been getting a ton of buzz in the blogosphere. Another long-wearing wonder that promises to be comfortable on the lips. I've largely ignored Sephora's house brand, but this one has me curious!

Estee Lauder Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this new range of lipsticks. Pigmented colour, hydrating smoothness, and impressive wear time. The shade selection is comprehensive and incredibly sophisticated.

Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick
There seems to be a theme here! Long-wearing lipsticks that don't parch the lips. Perfect for summertime when you need a lasting, colourful pout. I've always been a fan of Clinique lip products and this new line has me super interested!

Revlon ColourStay Moisture Stain
We all know that I'm the ultimate sucker for Revlon lip products. This brand new offering offers the ultimate combination of gloss, pigmentation, and staying power. I've seen swatches and the shades look incredible!

NYX Matte Lipsticks
I already have one of these beauties in Merlot and it's so lovely that I'd be tempted to snag the whole line! The shades are bold and unique and offer a full colour payoff without smudging or drying. Top notch, and at an affordable price!

Dior Addict Fluid Sticks
These have been popping up everywhere recently and with good reason. The packaging is ultra chic, the shades are stunning, and they promises a brilliant shine with vivid pigmentation. Leave it to Dior to create something this beautiful!

Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato Lip and Cheek Colour
Another multi-tasking product from a brand that always leaves me impressed. The packaging is sleek, the shades are mouth-watering, and these are supposed to wear wonderfully on both cheeks and lips. Ultra tempting!

Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick
The Body Shop has been releasing some beautiful makeup products lately and it seems that these new lipsticks are no exception. The shades are cheery and the formula offers a flattering semi-sheer finish. Seems like a perfect lightweight option for the warmer months!

So there you have it! The lip products that have been all over my radar lately. They have made it difficult to stick to my guns, but so far, so good! Hope I've tempted you with some of these lovely offerings. And, as for me, wish me continued self-control! :)

What lip products have you been lusting after lately?

Have a great weekend! xo

  3. Hold strong! Don't do it! My collection has grown by leaps and bounds this year, but it's dying down a little, thank goodness!

  4. Yeah, those Estee Lauder ones look really lovely—especially anything in a pink shade! But like you, I'm trying not to add any more lipsticks to my stash. I have enough already, and I'm having fun rediscovering them (i.e. MAC's Lustering, NARS' Schiap)

  6. Ok, now you have me lusting after all those products! I need to go on a similar ban. Pretty much any time I leave the house I come home with a new lip product. Those YSL lip and cheeks do look mighty pretty though...
Great post...even if it did make me want to run out to Sephora!

  18. Oh Gosh, temptation indeed! I really shouldn't buy more lipsticks. I just got a couple from Dior, even though I know I shouldn't have! I am kinda tempted by the Asian version of the new Estee Lauder lipsticks though. Hopefully I'll be able to take a look at those soon!

  20. Ooh, lilac! That's one shade I've been tempted to try, but have been a bit shy with. I know that NYX and Lime Crime both make pretty ones! :)
