Nail of the Day: Lush, Green Grapes

Hi, everyone! I don't often feature nail looks here (as painting my nails is one beauty habit I'm extreeeemely lazy about), but my lovely mother just treated me to two new polishes, so I decided to show them off. Thanks, Mom! xoxo

The two nail polishes used to create this look were O.P.I. Gargantuan Green Grape and Chine Glaze Luxe and Lush. Gargantuan Green Grape, aside from being highly alliterative, is a pale near-pastel shade somewhere between mint and (appropriately) green grape green. I've seen a few bloggers feature some fabulous pale pastel and unique green polishes lately (e.g., here and here) so I was inspired to give this one a go! Luxe and Lush features multicoloured holo-glitter in a nearly clear base. I thought it would be a shade that I could add on top of any nail polish to give it some texture and extra interest.

I applied a few coats of Gargantuan Green Grape so that the effect would be vibrant and opaque. Interestingly, when it dried down it looked a lot more neon/lime green than the shade in the bottle would suggest. I applied a thin-ish layer of Luxe and Lush on top, which I think added to the vibrancy of the colour even further!

On a side note, this was the first time I ever used an editing program to adjust the colour/tint/contrast in my photos. My camera was not capturing the shades accurately at all (so frustrating!), so I did my best to adjust the hue so that the photos clearly represented what these lovely nail polishes have to offer. I have to say it was a fun process, and it paid off!

How do you feel about pastel/lime green nail polishes? Have any favourites?

Thanks for reading! xoxo
