Currently Obsessed: Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

Hi, everyone! If you know me well, or are a regular reader of the blog, you'll know that I'm a sucker for luxurious skin care. I can't help it- I love a good pamper! At the same time, I consider myself fairly savvy on the topic of skin care ingredients, so I also have no tolerance for high-end skin care products that are composed of lackluster ingredients. In a recent search for raved about, high-quality complexion treats, I stumbled across the world of Tatcha. I'd heard Caroline Hirons gush about this geisha-inspired line and I was officially hooked. I was excited to pick up two classic Tatcha goodies in NYC and was beyond thrilled when Tatcha got in touch and offered to send me one of their star products- their Luminous Dewy Skin Mist**

Made in Japan, Tatcha focuses on using ancient geisha-inspired beautifying ingredients that hold up in terms of modern skin care standards. Ingredients like rice bran, green tea, red algae, and licorice are stars of the show. The brand is pure luxury but is also wonderfully cruelty-free and environmentally-friendly. What's not to love!?

The luxurious experience began as soon as I opened my package from Tatcha- the attention to detail was lovely!

Tatcha products come packaged in sleek, brown wood-like cardboard boxes with minimal gold detailing and white lettering:

The box includes a thorough description of the product as well as a full ingredient listing. It promises that the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist** features the waters and precious beautifying, moisturizing red algae found off of Okinawa. A beautiful story, and the ingredients also back up the product's efficacy. Elements like Squalene, Green Tea Extract, and hyaluronic acid are proven hydrators and antioxidants and are a welcome addition!

The packaging of the mist is beyond beautiful. It's housed in a weighty blue glass bottle with gold detailing and is sealed with a sticker reminiscent of Japanese stationery. Of note- yes, the bottle is small. At only 40mL, this is smaller than your average mist or toner. Time will tell how long the bottle lasts, but the small size does make it feel extra precious.

The directions suggest that you must shake the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist gently, then mist it evenly onto the face for immediate hydration and radiance. While my initial inkling was to use this as a toner, I've found two other fabulous ways to use it.

The first is as a very light hydrator to restore moisture and glow after washing my face. Here is a shot of me after applying the mist following an evening cleanse. I'm wearing no other serums or moisturizers here- the glow is all from the mist!

The second (and my most favourite) purpose of the mist is to use it as a setting spray. Because my skin is oily, I powder my skin daily. First with a mattifying powder in the t-zone and to set concealer, then with a lighter-weight powder all over. This keeps shine at bay nicely, but can leave things looking a bit flat. Enter the Dewy Skin Mist and this issue is solved! Just a few spritzes over my completed makeup leaves my skin looking incredibly fresh and luminous without any feeling of greasiness.

In the photo below, my skin has been powdered and I'm not wearing a stitch of highlighter- once again, the glow is all from the mist!

If you couldn't tell, I'm totally in love with this product. It's extra wonderful because it truly was a pleasant surprise- as someone with an oily complexion, I feared this wouldn't suit me at all. But as the moisture is truly lightweight and non-greasy, it is utterly perfect! So we can chalk this up in the "products I never knew I needed, but now can't live without" category. It has become my new secret weapon for keeping my summer skin looking fresh and luminous while still keeping oil at bay. Aside from the teeny size of the bottle, I have absolutely zero complaints!

My success with this product has me ultra curious to try more from Tatcha in the near future. Their Radian Deep Brightening Serum (to gently deal with post-acne marks) and Indigo Soothing Renewal Treatment (to calm my eternal redness) are tops on my list! I'll also be reviewing the Tatcha goodies I bought in New York very soon.

You can find the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist online, here!

** This product was sent to me by Tatcha for consideration and review. All opinions are fully authentic and 100% my own!
