Hi, everyone! The weekend is here and I find myself back in my hometown for a visit with my family. Last night I saw my Dad's Beatles tribute band (yes, that's right) play at a local outdoor festival (so, so much fun) and tonight it my niece's baptism, when I'll get to celebrate with a great group of friends and family. My niece is officially the cutest (seriously, it's official) and I cherish every moment I get to spend with her.
This weekend also marks the end of Charlotte Tilbury Week here on the blog, and I've chosen to wrap things up with a makeup look! From the launch of the cosmetics brand nearly two years ago, The Dolce Vita look is the one that called to me most. It hearkens back to '60s Italian screen goddesses like Sophia Loren and is straight up sultry. It's all about warm, smokey lids, dramatic winged liner, a healthy peachy flush, and neutral lips. I created this look to meet Ms. Tilbury herself and I have to say I felt properly glamorous for the occasion!
For the eyes, I (of course) used the Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette. But before I delved into that beauty, I started with the stunning Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eye shadow pencil in Bronzed Garnet, a reddish copper shade. I applied this all over the lid as a base, as well as along my lower lash line. I then took the reddish bronze shade from the Dolce Vita quad and applied it generously on my lid, blending upwards and outwards to create a subtle cat eye shape. I then applied touches of the darker, neutral brown shade from the palette on the outer half of the crease for some subtle definition. I added touches of the shimmery ivory shadow on my brow bones and inner corners of my eye as a highlight and for the final piece de resistance, I packed the shimmery copper "pop" shade all over my lid for some serious sparkle. I finished the eye look with dramatic sweeps of Annabelle Stay Sharp Waterproof Eyeliner in Go Black on my upper lash lines and lower waterlines and coated my lashes with a generous helping of BeneFit They're Real.
For the cheeks, I chose the colour that corresponds to the Dolce Vita look, Charlotte Tilbury's Chic to Cheek blusher in Ecstasy, a stunning pinky peach. The final touch was Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Stoned Rose. This is actually the lipstick that goes along with the "Golden Goddess" look, but for my complexion I found it to be the ultimate complement!
The Breakdown:
Foundation: Revlon ColourStay Whipped Creme Makeup in Buff
Concealer: Cle de Peau Concealer in Ivory
Powder: Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot (on t-zone) and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (lightly all over)

Highlighter: Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer #12
Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blusher in Ecstasy
Brows: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion Original formula
Eye Shadows: Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Bronzed Garnet (as a base all over lid and along lower lash line) and Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita (reddish bronze shade all over lid, blended up to the crease, cool deep brown shade on outer corners to shade, ivory shade as a highlight on the brow bone and inner corner, and glittery "pop" shade packed all over the lid)
Eyeliner: Annabelle Stay-Sharp Waterproof Eyeliner in Go Black (along upper lash line and lower waterline)
Mascara: BeneFit They're Real
Lipstick: Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Stoned Rose
And a couple more shots of the look:
This look really channelled everything that Charlotte Tilbury promised: I truly felt like a glamorous, retro Italian screen siren! I was slightly concerned that the reddish coppery tones would wash me out (as shades like this are usually best for lighter eyes), but I was pleasantly surprised with how well The Dolce Vita suited me! This look represents the palette in a more dramatic form, but I look forward to also testing it out in more subtle incarnations as well. Who doesn't wait to bring a touch of the Dolce Vita to work?!
Which of Charlotte Tilbury's Iconic Makeup Looks is your favourite? Is the Dolce Vita a look that calls to you?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for tuning into Charlotte Tilbury Week!
I LOVE this look! You look amazing Jenn! The lip colour is great, but the eyes steal the show!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Charissa! The Dolce Vita palette really creates the most perfect eyes :)
DeleteSuch a great look on you. I'm more of a vintage vamp myself, but I found the palette didn't work out too good on me - it aged me a fair bit. I did pick up the Fallen Angel palette, though, which I find lives more up to my expectations. Must've been great craic meeting the woman behind it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm definitely curious to try the Vintage Vamp as well :)

ReplyDeleteHey Jen, wow what a glamorous look! I really love it on you! I saw that you got a couple of Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadows as well, and I'd like to hear what you think. I am giving up on Mona Lisa here. Unfortunately, this particular formula does not hold up too well on my oily lids :(
ReplyDeleteI've used Marie Antoinette a few times now and I really like it! The creasing is very, very minimal and the finish is lovely! Thanks, Sunny :)
DeleteI absolutely loooove this look! One of my favorites that you've created! The entire looks is screaming greek goddess to me! Love!

DeleteThis is my FAVOURITE look. I know you usually rock some very bold pink lips and whatnot (and you always look gorgeous in pink), but you look super stunning in warmer hues too. Plus, I love that warm smoky eye. Flawless.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks so much! I don't mind taking a break from my typical bright lips if it means wearing eye shadows as pretty as the Dolce Vita :)
