Like all Tom Ford Lip Colours, Crimson Noir comes boxed in textured brown packaging with gold lettering. You know things are fancy when the box is this chic!
The lipstick bullet is likewise branded, which I think it a beautiful touch. It is ephemeral, but does last for several applications.
Now let's talk about the colour. Crimson Noir is a slightly cool-toned wine-tinged red. It is not a burgundy or a berry, but has a touch of added depth that makes it more complex than a classic red. To me, the shade name emits a vintage vibe, and the colour itself has a sort of '20s screen siren feel that I totally love. The coverage is nearly opaque with a flattering satin finish.
Here it is swatched on my inner arm (appearing slightly more pink-toned than it truly is):
And on my lips...
... and in the context of a complete makeup look!
In terms of a review, I'm keeping this one a quickie because I've raved about the Tom For Lip Colour formula in my previous posts, here and here. Crimson Noir is on par with the others, in my opinion, which is fantastic in my books! The pigmentation is rich without being overpowering, the formula glides easily over lips and keeps them looking full and rich, and the shade is ultra flattering. I really have no complaints, except for the price tag. Aside from the wallet woes it induces, Crimson Noir is a true stunner in every respect!
Is this a shade that you'd wear? Do you have any favourite Tom Ford Lip Colours? Can you think of any more affordable dupes of Crimson Noir?
Thanks for dropping by! xo
