Hi, everyone! There has been a distinct chill in the air the past few days, which means Fall is firmly in place. I couldn't be happier about the arrival of Autumn- now it just has to stick around for awhile because I am so not ready for snow yet! With the change of the season I have been particularly drawn to makeup that's warm, sultry, and a little smokey. At this year's IMATS Toronto I picked up the Melt Cosmetics Rust Eyeshadow Stack and have really been loving it (full review to come!). It is a beautiful combination of warm, rusty mattes and is the focal point of today's makeup look!
To create the eye look, I used every shade from the Melt Rust Stack. I started by applying Classic, an ivory cream, all over the lid up to the brow bone as a base. I also applied it underneath the eyes to brighten things up. I then used Antique (a warm peach) in the crease as a transition shade. Next, I swept Rubbish (a mustard/caramel shade) on the outer half of the lid and along the lower lash line to start building up some subtle smoke. I then applied Rust (a coppery bronze) on the outer third of the lid, along the crease, and outer portion of the lower lash line for some added depth and definition. Finally, I used Rott (a deep matte brown) along the upper lash line and in the socket for some final shaping. I finished with a few coats of BeneFit They're Real! mascara and that was it!
I wanted to use similar warm tones on my cheeks but to add a bit of shimmer to contrast the matte eyes. I chose a mix of MAC Blush in Canteloupe and Margin and gave some glow to the high points of my face with NARS Hot Sand Highlighting Powder. It's a gorgeous slightly frosty ivory that I use on the regular!
For the lips, I opted for one of my favourite versatile neutrals, MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig. It's a fantastic pinky berry browned mauve that is utterly perfect for Fall.

ReplyDeleteMy skin has never looked better since I started using liposomal vitamin c. Because it is so much more easily absorbed than competing vitamin C products, I am seeing benefits much more quickly. My skin feels much softer and smoother now, and its texture has improved dramatically. One of my favourite benefits is that it increases collagen formation, which has made my skin seem firmer and less wrinkled. For healthy skin, this is a wonder product!
