Happy weekend! Winners is one of my favourite places to shop when I'm in the mood for a treasure hunt. You never know what brands you'll spot and what bargains you'll find! For those not familiar with the Canadian store, it's in the same vein as Marshall's or TJ Maxx, in that they feature several brands, budget to high end, all at a serious discount. I've scored lots of great, affordable clothing there, but it's always their beauty department that is the most exciting challenge!
As you can see, I snagged a mix of makeup, skincare, clothing, and accessories. A fun haul! Given that I've said the beauty section is the most thrilling, I'll start with my beauty finds:
Super Facialist by Una Brennan Neroli Firming Lifting Treatment Mask
This is a brand that I've heard several UK-based beauty bloggers rave about and one that I thought was only available across the pond. So it was to my surprise and delight that I spotted this product! To my knowledge, Una Brennan is a renowned facialist in the UK who offers affordable, but potent skin care products for all skin types. The only product from the line I found was the Neroli Firming Lifting Treatment Mask, and I was happy to take it home because my skin does tend to get dehydrated and lackluster in the wintertime. Plus, I love anything neroli-scented, so I'm jazzed to give this a go!
Real Techniques Kabuki Brush
My next excitement was when I spotted some Real Techniques brushes on the rack! My beauty junkie adrenaline was rushing. It's no secret that I've totally fallen in love with Real Techniques over the past year, and I had been super curious to try their Kabuki Brush. You can use it as a traditional angled kabuki brush (as it looks in the package), or you can fold it open (see the little diagram on the bottom right?) to create a thin, flatter surface for contouring or a light all-over sweep of the face. Multi-tasking and oh so neat!
Ellen Tracy Letter Tray
I'm always looking for cute, creative ways to store my makeup, and this Ellen Tracy Letter Tray really grabbed my attention. I was wooed by the emerald green lining, the neat black and white print, and the fact that its compartments would work perfectly for blush, eyeliner, and foundation. Excited to add this to my nightstand alongside my brush holders!
Jo&Jo Australia makeup bag
The makeup bag that I currently have at my boyfriend's place has seen better days. It's small, dirty (eek), and the zipper is broken. I decided that it was time to upgrade, and this is the cute, functional replacement I chose! The pattern and colour scheme really appealed to me, as well as the fact that the outside was made of a plastic-covered fabric, which would make it super easy to keep clean. It also has several handy compartments inside, some zippered and some lined with the same fun pattern as on the outside. I'll now be able to keep a few more makeup goodies at his pad and will be able to keep them neat and organized. Yay!
Sweaters from Vera Moda and Elsamanda
I also picked up a couple of cute cozy sweaters. I find that I can't go wrong with pieces like this, as they're both office friendly and weekend appropriate. And look, they're spooning! ;) The first is an ombre-coloured sweater from Vera Moda, that starts out a bright royal blue at the neckline and fades to a rich navy at the bottom of the body and sleeves. Loved the graded effect! The second is a peachy pink knit number from Elsamanda. It's incredibly soft and I find the colour quite flattering!
Anna Sui Nail Colour N #402
The final goody I snagged was this little stunner of a nail polish frpm Anna Sui.The bottle itself is a beaut with its rose shape and sleek black cap and the shade is equally lovely. It's a rich berry shade with light-catching golden flecks. Have never seen anything quite like it!
And there you have it! Going to Winners is always an adventure, and I was thrilled to find so many fun products there last weekend. To give some perspective on the price point, I paid approximately $80 for all seven items, whereas the full prices for each would have totalled close to $150. Not too shabby!
Have you ever found anything exciting at Winners or at any similar shops like Marshall's or TJ Maxx? Anything I pick up catching your eye?
Have a great weekend! xo

DeleteGreat finds! That nail polish colour is GORG and those sweaters are so pretty. It's so great that you found common brands this time 'round. Last time I went to TJ Maxx in the States, it was a mess! We don't have anything like that here in Aus, how sad!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks! Yeah, Winner's can be crazy messy too, but I try to visit the less crowded ones, which are in better condition!
DeleteAwesome haul! I was at Winner's yesterday and picked up a Giovanni organic shampoo for black hair for $4, a stainless steel grill pan for $20, some rose water and a small jar of saffron. They always have the greatest, most random assortment of stuff!
ReplyDeleteAhh, nice finds! I love hauls that are a random mixture of goodies :)
