LuxeBox, June Edition

This post can definitely be filed under the "waaay late" category. Since August has made its way in, talk of a June LuxeBox is not all that timely. There were some interesting products featured in the June edition, however, so I thought the post could still be fun and informative! Here are all the June goodies nestled cozily in their box:

LuxeBox, June Edition

And a closeup of the contents:

Overall, I was impressed that this edition of LuxeBox featured two full-sized products. Although I wasn't jumping for joy over the specific items, I appreciated the value of being able to test out a product in full!

The first was Sally Hansen's Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips- essentially press-on nails that assume a polish-like texture. I'm not sure that I can get past the crazy zebra print here, but it could still be a fun project to test these out soon!

The second full-sized product I received was an O.P.I. clear top coat. I've used and loved O.P.I. polishes for some time, so I have no doubt that their top coat is top-notch. My only disappointment was that I had received a Seche Vite clear top coat in a previous LuxeBox (see here), so I really wasn't in the market for another!

The box also included an Olay ProX Eye Restoration Complex (15 mL, a presumably small tube housed in a gigantic box!):

A small sample of L'Oreal Mythic Oil:

And a portable magnifying mirror from Olay:

While I'd mentioned being impressed with the full-sized products included in the June edition, that's where my enchantment ended. I had a similar issue with this LuxeBox as I'd had with past months' offerings- tiny-sized products from brands that are easily accessible at any drugstore. It does not seem worth the value and hardly feels luxe! While I don't doubt that the products included in this set are quality (I've heard great things about the L'Oreal Mythic Oil, for instance), such items were not what I expected when I eagerly enrolled in the LuxeBox program.

Because of this (and because LuxeBox has recently switched to a quarterly, rather than monthly delivery schedule), June's edition was my last. In the end, the service didn't wow me enough to make the cost worthwhile. I don't regret joining, though, as the excitement of receiving and opening a box full of pint-sized products each month was enough to sustain me for a while :)

Do any of you subscribe to monthly beauty boxes? Any recommendations for a great one?

  4. I have used the Sally hanson strips before and it turned out horrible...I just bought them again, cause it could have been my bad patience the first time. I am hoping it goes better the second time around:/ Good luck to you!

  6. I really want to try the Sally Hansens polish strips... The print isn't that bad, you can use it on one nail, while you have the rest in another color ;p xo
