Lip Stash by Hue: The Deep Vamps

Hi, everyone! Believe it or not, my Lip Stash by Hue series is not over! A few colour families remain, but I've totally been enjoying the project of getting my epic stash organized and sorted. Quite fun and therapeutic, actually! With Autumn just around the corner, the vampy lipsticks start rolling out in full force. To celebrate this, today I'm featuring the deepest, darkest lipsticks in my stash! I will have a separate post for the slightly more muted berries and burgundies, but for now, we have the true vamps.

The deep, vampy lipsticks in my collection are:

Lime Crime Velvetine in Wicked
MAC Matte Lipstick in Viva Glam III
Wet N' Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Cinnamon Spice
NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Burgundy
Inglot Freedom System Lipstick in #42

Here are the lip colours all lined up, followed by swatches of each on my inner arm (MAC NC15 skin tone) in the same order:

And here are each of the lip colours in the context of a completed makeup look!

MAC Matte Lipstick in Viva Glam III

Wet n' Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Cinnamon Spice

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Burgundy

Inglot Freedom System Lipstick in #42

As I was putting this post together, I realized that two of my favourite vampy shades were missing in action! Must find them soon (hoping they have disappeared into the abyss beneath the bed), but in the meantime, here are some shots of me wearing MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Good to be Bad and OCC Lip Tar in Black Dahlia from a previous post!

OCC Lip Tar in Black Dahlia

I don't wear ultra deep lipsticks often, as I have to be in a truly vampy mood, but when I do, it's hard not to feel a bit bold and seductive. My favourites among the bunch are MAC Viva Glam III (such a perfect blend of burgundy, red, and brown with a flattering matte finish), Lime Crime Wicked (a blackened red that really wears all day) and MAC Good to be Bad (a glossy, deep burgundy that makes vampy lips easy to wear, and with a cheeky name!).

What are your favourite deep, vampy lipsticks? Which ones have I tempted you with here?

Have a fantastic weekend! xo

  1. Wicked looks amazing, I tend to like these colours better with a matte finish.

  2. I love Wicked, but I don't know what to think about Lime Crime with all the scandal they had, so I don't know if I'd buy anything by them. But, the Viva la Glam colour looks amazing, I stared at it for so long when I went to MAC the last time haha.
For vampy lips, I love NYX's lipstick in Snow White, Makeup Revolution's lipsticks in Fusion and Reckless and Kiko's Smart lipstick in 914 Amaranth.
    Have a good day! xx
