NYC Shopping List!

Hi, everyone! In just over four weeks, I'm heading out on a quick but oh-so-exciting vacation that I absolutely cannot wait for- I'm going to NYC with my parents! While I have visited the Big Apple six times (it's truly my city soul mate), neither my Mom and Dad have been. They have been asking me to be their New York tour guide for ages, so I thought that celebrating my PhD graduation with them in the big city would be the perfect opportunity!

Although shopping isn't the primary purpose of the trip, I've somehow (in true Jen fashion) complied a rather giant list of products I'm eager to snag. Here are the ultra beautiful ridiculously-hard-to-find-in-Canada goodies (and the stores that stock them) that are tempting me most!

Barney's
The Barney's beauty department might be my favourite place to shop. Ever. It stocks the most amazing selection of luxurious, cult, hard-to-find brands that are such a pleasure to peruse. And despite the high-end setting, the sales associates are always ultra helpful! This time around it's the skin care at Barney's that's tempting me most:
I've heard nothing but good things about Tatcha and I'm super interested in their Indigo Soothing Rice Enzyme Powder, an ultra gentle exfoliant. I'm way intrigued about Sunday Riley's newest offering, Luna Sleeping Night Oil. It promises soothing and anti-ageing; since it's pricey, I hope to snag a sample! Ditto for the luxurious Organic Pharmacy Carrot Butter Cleanser, which is a fave of Lisa Eldridge.

Bergdorf Goodman
I don't think I've ever been to Bergdorf's, but they have a few brands that are drawing me there now!
Charlotte Tilbury is coming to Toronto sometime in June(!), but if it hasn't hit shelves yet, I am going to have to snag some goodies while in NYC. Tops on my list are the  Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in the Dolce Vita, K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Stoned Rose, Colour Chameleon Dark Pearl, and the new Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows in Cleopatra. I'm also determined to snag a couple of the Trish McEvoy 24 Hour Eye Shadow and Liners, which are supposed to offer amazing pigmentation and lasting power. Finally, I've never tried anything from La Metier de Beaute, but their Eye Kaleidoscopes are fascinating!

Bloomingdale's
Bloomingdale's shops also have fab beauty departments. All of the brands they stock are top-notch, but I'm especially curious about:
SK-II, which is definitely pricey, but supposedly magical. My interest has definitely been piqued by their Facial Treatment Essence, Cellumination Mask-in Lotion, a toner-mask hybrid.

Space NK
Space NK is always a must-visit when I go to NYC. They carry so many interesting brands!
I love shopping for By Terry at Space NK, as they usually have a makeup artist on-hand for touch-ups! This time, I need to finally snag a couple of Ombre Blackstars and replenish my much-loved Cover Expert foundation. I'm also super tempted by the Sarah Chapman Overnight Exfoliating Booster

C.O.Bigelow Apothecary
I've never been to the C.O. Bigelow shop, but this Greenwich Village apothecary looks incredible. It features both traditional remedies and high-end brands alike! I was so excited that they carry:
Lipstick Queen- I so need some goodies from this brand in my life! If I'm weak, I will buy one of their ultra-luxe Velvet Rope lipsticks, or with a bit more restraint, their universally flattering Hello Sailor. I'm also set on picking up some goodies from Ellis Faas, including their Hot Lips for super vivid colours, Creamy Lips for long-wearing, shiny, saturated shades, and their Eye Lights for for intense shimmer.

Bite Beauty Lip Lab
Finally, I am planning to visit the Bite Beauty Lip Lab for any makeup addict's dream experience- creating my own customized lipstick! I'm thinking of some kind of hot pink/magenta hybrid :)

Since I obviously won't be picking up everything on this list, I would love your feedback- which of these items do you think is the most worth it? A must-have?

Where are your favourite places to shop for beauty in NYC?

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! xo

    1. Haha-- definitely let me know if I can snag anything for you ;) Yeah, I probably won't snag the Kaleidoscopes because of the price, but they're tempting!

  8. Charlotte Tilbury is definitely worth it if you haven't found any here in Canada before you leave. And, the Dolce Vita palette is my fave, it's so beautiful on. I had been dying for some Lipstick Queen, and last week I couldn't believe my eyes, because The Shopping Channel was clearing some out! There wasn't much left, but I snagged a tube of Sinner in the colour Rust, and a tube of their Medieval Tinted Treatment. Both were quite nice, but maybe not as nice as I was expecting? Now, they weren't one of Lipstick Queen's really high end lipsticks either.

  11. SO. Just when I thought I have tried all the good cream/stick eyeshadows on the market, you have showed me more here LOL I'm definitely interested in trying the CT and Trish McEvoy ones! I unfortunately did not have the best experience with Ellis Faas, but cream eyeshadows are so personal so I hope you'll have better luck than I did!
