Happy weekend, everyone! Only one more week till my holiday break- something to celebrate for sure! It's time for another Nail of the Day featuring an incredibly unique and complex Nail Varnish from Illamasqua. I've featured a few other Illamasqua nail polishes on the blog over the past year (check them out here, here, and here), and have always been impressed! Here's yet another stunner, Nail Varnish in Facet:
As with all Illamasqua Varnishes, Facet comes in a sturdy, rectangular glass bottle with a reflective black cap:
The back of the bottle displays the shade name and other pertinent information:
In terms of the shade, Facet is a unique concoction. It has a cool-toned taupey-grey base with warm coppery gold shimmer. It's an unexpected mix, but I find the combination to be quite lovely!
Here's a shot of Facet with flash, to get a sense of the shimmer:
I applied two coats of the polish (along with my trusty Revlon base and top coats) to create the colour saturation seen here:
Here are a couple more shots of Facet. As you can see, it's a bit of a chameleon depending on the lighting!
As for the wear-time of this polish, I've been super impressed! I've been wearing it for six days now and it's still going strong with very minimal chipping. There was some wearing at the tips of the nails fairly quickly, but I attribute this to my sloppy application technique, rather than the formula itself.
Overall, while it's no surprise that this is yet another fab nail polish from Illamasqua, this shade has really grown on me and has me gazing at my nails on the regular. It's really a dark horse contender for my favourite nail polish of the year!
Have you given Facet a go? Is it a shade that's up your alley? What are some of your fave nail polishes over the past year?
Thanks for reading! xo
