September Empties!

Hi, everyone- time for my monthly Empties post! The collection of finished products is a bit slimmer this month, but I'm not too concerned as the past few months have been pretty bountiful!

My September Empties feature goodies for hair, face, and body. Hope you find the reviews to be helpful!

Live Clean Exotic Shine Bali Oil Smoothing Shampoo- First up is my most recent shampoo to be emptied, a lovely, affordable option from Live Clean. The Bali Oil range smells of fresh, fruity pomegranates and is designed to smooth and hydrate frizzy hair. While this wasn't exceptional, it did a nice job at cleaning my hair without stripping it, foamed to a generous lather, and smelled luscious! I'm onto a different shampoo at the moment, but wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again, especially since it often goes on sale for around $5!

Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Advanced Formula- This is one of my daily staples and I have already re-purchased another bottle. This is the "yellow" oil from the High Performance Cleansing Oil range (thought I should state that, since there are many options and you can't tell the colour from an empty bottle!). It's pretty much the most basic offering Shu has in terms of cleaning oils, designed to remove makeup and balance all skin types. While I've used the "pink" oil (designed for combination/oily skin) previously, and am tempted by Shu's brightening oil, this one really does an impeccable job at removing all of my makeup without stripping my skin or breaking me out (and is a touch more affordable than the other options). Can't see why I'd ever stray from this!

Le Jour De Chanel (sample)- This is a product I wish I'd never sampled- not because it was terrible, but because it was too good. You know when you hesitate to try on that expensive pair of shoes, because if you love them you'll want to buy them and blow your entire paycheque, but try them on anyways and indeed fall in love? Same goes for this. Le Jour de Chanel is the morningtime installment of Chanel's new Resynchronizing Skin Care line. It has licorice for brightening, salicylic acid for gentle exfoliation, and jasmine to "invigorate" and "reactivate" the skin (not sure if that's true, but it makes it smell really nice!). I found this serum to be incredibly lightweight, wore well underneath my Antipodes Divine Facial Oil and Revlon ColourStay, didn't irritate my sensitive skin, and instantly brightened my complexion. I can feel my paycheque slipping through my fingers... ;)

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #21- This was one of my very first reviews when this blog was in its infancy and is still my go-to BB Cream! I bought it when BB Creams were still a relatively foreign concept in North America and it still outperforms all of the newer, mainstream offerings I've tried. It offers amazing coverage, a great colour match for my NC15 skin, lasts well on my oily complexion, and provides a high SPF. Can't ask for much more! The only reason I'm not rushing to purchase a replacement is because I have a few too many foundations on the go at the moment. But will for sure pick up a new one in the summer when I like to have some SPF in my base!

Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash- I bought this one on a whim last winter when Shoppers was offering extra Optimum points (yay for Optimum Points!) on Aveeno products. It had a nice almond scent and looked like a good option for my sensitive cold-weather skin. Shortly after purchasing it, I noticed it claimed to be a good shave cream as well, so I used it for that purpose till it ran out! It worked really well for shaving my legs, leading to a smooth finish with minimal irritation. Glad I snagged this one!

And one final jumbo-sized shot:

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed sifting through my September Empties!

What did you finish up this month? Thanks for reading! :)

  1. Haha I would love to try the Chanel cream but it is a wee bit out of price range, but maybe one of these days I will indulge.
