July Empties!

Hi, everyone! Time for another installment of my monthly empties! Since I've started this series of posts, I've been more mindful about finishing up items that are nearing their end. It can be difficult with many makeup products, but for things used daily like cleanser, hair products, and mascara, it's been a snap! It's always fun to sort through the contents of my empties bag at the end of the month. Here are July's spoils:

Not a bad assortment! I always surprise myself with how many goodies I've managed to finish. Here are some closer-up shots and a mini review of each!

(L-R, top to bottom): Bioderma Sebium H20 Solution Micellaire, Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara in Black, Lush Grass Shower Gel, Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil

Bioderma Sebium H2o Solution Micellaire- This was my first foray into the realm of Bioderma! I purchased this before my little sister's wedding, as I was in dire need of a method of washing my face in the morning that wouldn't literally dampen my maid of honour hairdo and would also control oil throughout the big day. This really did the trick, and it was a pleasure using up the rest of the bottle. I kept it at my boyfriend's place, using it to remove makeup at night. It did a great job at tackling my long-wearing makeup without irritating or drying out my skin. Stung my eyes slightly, but nothing worth complaining about!

Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara in Black- This might be my all-time favourite mascara, and that's saying a lot because I feel like I've tried them all! For me, it provides the perfect combination of length and dramatic volume without getting clumpy or spidery. I come back to it time and time again! To see it in a previous Look of the Day, click here!

Lush Grass Shower Gel- This is one of my favourite summery products from Lush, and about the third bottle that I've been through. It smells of freshly but grass and never fails to uplift me in the morning! A must for those who like green, earthy, vibrant scents. To see last summer's bottle of Grass in my shower lineup, click here

Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil- This is also a staple in my routine, and the third bottle I've used up. This does an incredible job at removing my heavy duty sunscreen, foundation, and mascara without breaking me out or leaving an oily residue. Heaven in a bottle, really! Have already purchased a new bottle. To read about the Shu makeover that introduced me to this lovely product, click here!

(L-R, top to bottom): Batiste Cherry-Scented Dry Shampoo, Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion, Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Conditioner

Batiste Cherry-Scented Dry Shampoo- I picked this up during my first-ever trip to Ulta and I haven't been disappointed. As my first venture into dry shampoo, I was totally impressed with how this left my oily roots looking thicker, cleaner, and more refreshed. Plus, the cherry fragrance is cheeky and girly, without being overpowering. It's been a lifesaver this summer so far, and I've already re-purchased a full-sized bottle in another one of Batistse's lovely scents!

Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion- This was another goody that I picked up at the amazing Jacob and Sebastian, one of my favourite shops in Toronto. This toner was dream for my combination/oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin. The alcohol-free, aloe-rich formula did wonders to remove final traces of makeup and leave my skin feeling clean, smooth, and balanced. I'm back to using my trusty Thayers Witch Hazel Toner at the moment, but can definitely see myself grabbing another bottle of this Mario Badescu wonder down the line!

Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Conditioner- While Organix products aren't quite as all-natural as they claim to be, I've never been disappointed with any of their products in terms of performance. This conditioner did a fantastic job at moisturizing my dry ends without weighing my hair down. Plus, it had a pleasant nutty fragrance and a lovely, rich texture. Would be happy to re-purchase this in the future!

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my empties for the month. What did you finish up in July??

Thanks for reading! :)

  14. Yay Bioderma! I'm more than halfway through my 500ml bottle and planning to restock soon. I've also seen so many positive reviews on the Shu Uemura cleansing oil but I don't know whether I should try it out since it's a bit out of my budget :(
