Life Recently #3

Hi, everyone! Time for the next installment of 'Life Recently', my monthly post that gives you a peek into my (mostly) non-makeup-related life. As you've seen, these posts typically feature yummy food creations, shots from around Toronto, and portraits of my silly kitty, Sadie. This month is no exception!

Just a quick warning that this is a really photo-heavy post! Hope you enjoy :)

Have I mentioned that my boyfriend makes the most incredible breakfasts? I have, but I'll say it again. This is one of his recent creations: egg and spinach crepe with tomato sauce and brie melted on half a portabello mushroom. Heavenly!

View from the bf's condo at sunset. So serene!

Sadie got jealous when I was photographing some makeup items for the blog, so she decided to give me her best pose. It worked :)

Sometimes I like to be a tourist in my own town. Thought this was a nice mix of modern and older architecture. On Front Street, looking east, downtown Toronto.

Oh yeah, did I mention that the bf makes incredible dinners too? Tofu Parmesan with goat-cheese smothered roasted asparagus :)

One of my best friends got me this incredible vintage contraption as an early birthday present. It's called the Lip View and it combines a lipstick holder with a compact. So chic! Can't wait to write a full post about this :)

Shall I introduce you to Simon? He's one of my parents' adorable Himalayan cats. He's such a rascal, but is looking amazingly refined in this photo. I miss him so much now that I live in Toronto!

Incredible Eggs Florentine with sauteed mushrooms at the Twisted Apron in Windsor, ON, my hometown. Was as delicious as it looks :)

Early last month, the bf and I made an adventurous trek out to The Guild in Scarborough, a park where old Toronto monuments, facades, and statues came to rest after they were torn down. The snowy, slippery ground was a bit of a hassle, but there were so many amazing sights to see! These were the columns that once formed the facade of an old bank downtown.

There was a concrete relief for each Canadian province, but I thought Ontario was looking especially svelte ;)

An old smokehouse with the sun setting behind it. That's my boyfriend checking out the building in the distance. As I was not wearing proper boots and the ground was slippery as hell, I let him explore that portion on his own :)

Beautiful old statue with wilted cabbage at her feet.

For some reason I was totally compelled to have my photo taken on this log. Luckily my boyfriend indulged me :)

Home-made pita pizzas are our go-to dinner when we want something simple and delicious! We have the process down so we can make them quite quickly. I'm in charge of grating the cheese (and eating copious amounts while grating), saucing the pizzas and topping them. The bf does all the grueling chopping ;)

And Artie, my parents' other adorable Himalayan kitty. He is truly huge and looks like one giant puff ball when he sleeps! :)

Easter brunch, plate #1. So much yummy, colourful food!

Easter brunch, plate #2. Definitely more shameful. I felt like a gluttonous carb monster! But it was incredibly delicious ;)

And, finally, my desk calendar image from March. Adorably weird!

And that's it! Thanks for sharing in these cheery, colourful moments from the past month :) What fun things have you been up to lately?

Cheers :)
