Quo Limited Edition Fall 2016 Collection

Hi, everyone! Over the past week or so I've begun to hear the rumblings of an epic divide- those who want to hold onto Summer versus those who are cheering the emergence of Fall. A heated debate, and everyone has an opinion! At the risk of alienating half my readers, I have to throw my hat into the ring- I am 100% team Autumn! While I love the carefree feel of summertime, the heat and I don't always get along. Give me crisp air and crunchy leaves any day! Beyond the temperature, I'm also a huge sucker for Autumn makeup and fashion. Tones get a bit deeper, richer, and edgier. Nothing wrong with that! I'm always eager to watch the Fall makeup collections roll in and today we have new offerings from Quo to get us ready for the season.

Quo's limited edition Fall 2016 collection comes in beautiful rich purple packaging with a leaf motif to signify the season. The compacts are made of sleek, sturdy plastic all with handy mirrored lids.

Bold brows continue to dominate the beauty world and Quo's latest response is their new Brow Palette in Raise Your Brows** ($12 CAD). It features two shades of brow powder, one a blonde tone and the other a brunette, and a clear brow wax. Unfortunately these shades don't quite work for my colouring (the blonde a touch to warm/yellow, the brown too deep), but I may persist at trying to blend the tones because the texture is quite nice! The powders are smooth and pigmented and blend out nicely. My tiny brows have little need for wax, but for fuller arches that need some taming, the inclusion of the wax in this palette is a nice addition!

For the complexion, Quo's Fall collection includes two variations of Face Palettes ($20 CAD), each including a bronzer with corresponding blush and highlighter. I was sent Sweet Illusion**, which includes a beautiful pinky coral blush with a satiny finish, an ultra glowy ivory highlighting powder, and a golden brown bronzer with soft shimmer. I find all of these shades to be wonderfully flattering, blendable, and long-wearing. I sported this palette yesterday for 10 hours and it looked nearly good as new! Most impressive, especially given the price tag of the palette.

Also new for this collection are three Matte Lipsticks ($14 CAD), each with a rich Autumn hue. I was sent along Mysterious**, a stunning saturated violet berry shade. I have to say that this is among the best drugstore lipsticks I've tried! The formula is creamy and highly pigmented with a comfortable semi-matte finish. It's quite long-wearing and the shade is absolutely stunning! Truly an ideal Fall lipstick for me.

Lastly, the collection includes three new Eye Shadow Palettes ($18 CAD), each of which offer 10 shadows in a sleek compact. I was sent Clean Sweep**, which is a mix of crisp, cool-toned blues and greys, some lighter neutrals, and a couple pops of warmer bronze. I don't reach for grey and blue shadows often, but I was determined to make the palette work! Unfortunately, the formula was a miss for me. In general, the shadows were quite powdery and the pigmentation was not quite there- many shades were difficult to build up and blend. This is on-par with other drugstore shadow palettes I've tried, however- just haven't found a drugstore shadow palette that's wowed me!

And here are swatches of the collection on my inner arm (MAC NC15 skin tone):

(L-R): Quo Brow Palette in Raise Your Brows (blonde shade, brown shade), Face Palette in Sweet Illusion (blush, highlighter, bronzer), and Matte Lipstick in Mysterious

And here I am wearing the Face Palette in Sweet Illusion, Eye Shadow Palette in Clean Sweep, and Matte Lipstick in Mysterious:

While this collection isn't perfection in my books, I have definitely found some new Fall makeup loves in the Sweet Illusion Face Palette** (incredibly flattering, long-wearing shades) and the Matte Lipstick in Mysterious (about as gorgeous as a matte berry lip can get!). I'm sure I'll be reaching for both often in the coming months (which I can only hope will be filled with crisp Fall weather).

You can look out for the new Quo limited edition Fall 2016 collection in mid-September only at Shoppers Drug Mart

Which pieces from this collection are catching your eye? Are you a sucker for Autumn makeup? Are you Team Summer or Team Fall?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have an amazing long weekend! xo

  3. I love autumn make-up, I'm more into my darker shades when it comes to winter so love when the make-up brands release pretty plums, olives and deep nudes for the colder months! These palettes are gorgeous xx
