2015 Favourites: The Eye Enhancers

Hi, everyone! While I tend to focus the majority of my attention on epic palettes when it comes to eye makeup (several of which I featured in my last post, here), there were some pretty amazing single shadows, eyeliners, and mascaras that were crucial in making my eyes look their best in 2015. I definitely did not want these products to fall by the wayside in my Favourites series, so I'm shining the spotlight on them today!

Liners and Lashes

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Bronzed Garnet
I was beyond thrilled that Charlotte Tilbury finally launched in Canada this year and Bronzed Garnet looked like one of the most stunning picks from the range. It's a metallic warm reddened bronze that wears all day and pairs beautifully with the Dolce Vita palette. You can see it swatched and worn here

Trish McEvoy 24-Hour Eye Shadow and Liner in Glamorous
Big claim here, but this has quickly risen to the spot of my all-time favourite eyeliner. I found this a bit intense and difficult to blend when worn as an all-over shadow, but as an eyeliner, it's absolute perfection with my brown eyes! It's a stunning metallic reddish plum with a creamy texture and bullet-proof wear. You can see it swatched here and me wearing it here

Chanel Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil in Rouge Noir
This was a very late addition in 2015, but it easily made the cut. This is my first Chanel Kohl liner and I was so not disappointed. The formula is rich and smudgy (but not messy) and Rouge Noir is such a chic, sultry, plummy black. I wore this liner on New Year's Eve and felt totally fierce :)

The Hot Shop Long Lash Mascara
I'm pretty sure this mascara was my most pleasant surprise of the year. I've been really satisfied with the vast majority of products I've tried from the Born Pretty Store, but this one takes the cake! Long Lash offers just that- intensely long lashes with volume to boot. And it doesn't smudge or flake. A budget miracle! You can see it reviewed here.

YSL Eyeliner Effet Faux Cils Shocking in Deep Green
I bought this on a whim following a post-PhD defense makeover at the YSL counter and am so glad I did! I have a weakness for felt-tipped liquid liners and this one is the most beautiful shade of deep teal green. It's a pleasure to use and oh so pretty! You can see me wearing it here

Shadows

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in On the Rocks
I was thoroughly impressed with all of the ColourPop shadows I purchased this year, but it was On the Rocks that I wore on the regular. Like, several times a week. On the surface it's a pretty shimmery neutral brown, but up close it has subtle violet and golden micro-glitter that makes it extra special. And it's oh-so-flattering with my brown eyes! You can see it swatched here and on my eyes here

H&M Beauty Colour Essence Eye Cream in Dauphine Truffle
I'll cut to the chase- H&M cream shadows are fantastic! Such a comfortable, buildable, long-wearing formula. Dauphine Truffle is an ultra versatile mid-tone neutral brown that can be paired with so many shadows for countless looks. It's also great on its own for a quick wash of colour! You can see it swatched and in the context of a complete makeup look, here

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Pale Barley
This is a blogger favourite and with good reason- just one swipe of this and eyes look their best. It's a versatile, yet totally unique golden-tinged taupe with such a flattering, glowy finish. And the texture really is like buttah. So luxurious! You can see it swatched here and in a makeup look here

NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde
Finishing this list with a punch! This duo is pure bold, warm, metallic goodness. With a punchy gold and rich orange copper, this combo is totally stunning and makes me feel like I'm wearing liquid metal. I picked it up during the Sephora sale in November and it instantly became indispensable. You can see me wearing it, here

So many treasures I found this year! What were your favourite eye shadows, liners, and mascaras of 2015?

Thanks for dropping by! xo

  1. Oh wow, that mascara is fabulous and it's crazy how much length and volume it gave your lashes! I might just place an order for it.
