Weekend Away Hair and Skin Care Lineup

Hi, everyone! I write you from my hometown, where I've slipped off to for the long weekend. I decided that I simply couldn't wait until Thanksgiving to see my niece (and the rest of my family too, hehee), so I packed my bags and took the train south. I didn't want to cram my toiletry bag to the brim, so I only brought the essentials to keep my skin and hair in check.

As for skin care, I have a my brand new mini Mild Oil Cleansing from Muji. They are not famous for their skin care, but perhaps they should be! After a few uses, I've been pretty impressed. For a second cleanse, I brought my trusty (now on my second bottle) Odacite Gentle Rejuvenating Cleanser, which is incredibly gentle and effective and one of my new staples from The Detox Market. To smooth out my eye area, I have the Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream. I'm almost done the pot, which says a lot, as I'm totally fickle with eye creams. It plumps up fine lines and tingles ever so slightly, which I find incredibly addictive. To keep breakouts at bay, I have the Kiehl's Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Cream Treatment. It features salicylic acid, which my skin loves, and never, ever leaves my sensitive compelxion red or dried out. And, last but not least, for moisture both day and  night I have the Antipodes Divine Face Oil. This is my third bottle of this oil and with good reason- it hydrates deeply, soothes, and never leaves my oily skin shiny!

As for hair, I brought a few faves, new and old. I grabbed my go-to lazy-but-effective styling cream, Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine, which doubles as a leave-in conditioner and smoothing treatment. To add in volume and texture, I brought a mini of the CoLab Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo in the London** scent (instantly gives serious oomph to my roots with a classic scent) and the R+Co Rockaway Salt Spray, which smells fresh and fruity and enhances my waves wonderfully.

So far, this small but mighty arsenal has been serving me well! What hair care and skin care products do you bring with you on a weekend away?

Have a fantastic long weekend, everyone! xo

  1. I usually pack my little sample sized products, so it can be a little unpredictable!

    1. Yeah, I've done that in the past for sure! But given that my skin has been so finicky lately, I trick to stick with things my skin loves for sure :)

  3. I need a new eye cream and wanted to buy the full size of the Kielh's Remedy one as I loved the sample so much. I will have a look at the powerful wrinkle reducing one though! If you finished the pot, it sure means it's a good one! xx

  6. You're the 12320392832983th person to upsell the London Colab dry shampoo -- I have to try it! I had the turquoise one and I wasn't crazy about the scent so I gave the others a miss, but this one I've heard is super fresh-smelling!

  14. NGL, I haven't been much of a fan of the Divine Oil in the past, but I'm slowly warming up to it since I've been forcing myself to use daily it for the past week! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE ON YOUR THIRD BOTTLE THOUGH? But yeah, I've been having really dry skin recently, and though I don't find that it 'hydrates deeply', I have gotten pretty good results in the past week(s). I doubt I'd repurchase though, because I've got a bunch of other oils to get through.

    1. I think the reason I like the Divine Oil so much is that it's very lightweight! I love that it feels nourishing but doesn't leave me at all greasy. I could see why it wouldn't feel like enough for dry skin, though!
