April 2015 Favourites!

Hi, everyone! April was a busy month for new products. Between an epic Sephora sale and a serious complexion freak-out, I found myself accumulating a fair amount of goodies. I also worked to shop my stash a lot last month and luckily re-discovered some gems! So here they are, the items that I reached for most in April.

The Colour

Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Collection
I found myself reaching for this palette quite a bit last month! It's a beautiful mix of warm and neutral shades with shimmery and matte finishes. It can create anything from an ultra nude work look to a full-on sultry smokey eye. It's a true beaut!

MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque
This has been my go-to lazy eye look product. A couple layers of this across the lid creates glowy peachy gold goodness that stays put all day. Perfect for Spring!

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Papaya/Topaz
I bought this in the latest Sephora sale and am so glad I did. It is shimmery golden coral orange perfection. It makes me feel like I'm lounging on the beach in Australia somewhere, which is a much-needed sensation in April. Plus it wears well all day!

Clinique Cheek Pops in Heather Pop and Cola Pop
I have already proclaimed my obsession with these, so it's no surprise that I've been wearing them non-stop since I brought them home. Adorable packaging, a flattering glowy finish, and true all-day wear. What's not to love?

NARS Powder Blush in Deep Throat
Yes, you're seeing correctly. That is a 99% finished NARS blush. My friend gifted me this back in 2006 and I haven't looked back. I already have a backup, as Deep Throat is my all-time favourite blush (the ultimate shimmery pinky peach), but I have made it a point to fully finish this one off. I'm sooo close!

Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Lip Colour in Catherine
This new formula from Chanel is really great. Beautiful buildable colour with a smooth, hydrating feel. And ultra luxurious, of course! Catherine is a lovely '60s-inspired pinky-peach that is amazingly flattering and wonderful for Spring.

Ilia Lipstick Crayon in Karma Chameleon
This cheery satin coral was a permanent fixture in my handbag last month. It's vivid enough to channel the warming temperatures, yet just subtle enough to wear to work without blinding my clients. And the formula is ultra hydrating.

Ilia Lip Gloss in Gypsy
The texture of this gloss is just heavenly. Smooth, moisturizing, and not at all sticky. The flattering honey shade makes it perfect for a sunny afternoon or a day at the office. I need more of these glosses in my life!

The Base and Skin Care

Bioderma Cicabio Soothing Repairing Cream
My skin had a pretty serious freak-out last month. I'm pretty sure I was testing way too many products and all the essential oils left me rashy and sore (not fun). I had sampled this cream in the past with great success, so finally bought a full sized bottle. This calms redness instantly and cures irritation within just a couple days!

Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup in Shade #1
I shopped my stash and am so happy I re-discovered this. It provides beautiful natural light-to-medium coverage and, while it is not oil- or bullet-proof, it lasts quite nicely through the 9-to-5. Plus, Shade #1 is a perfect shade match for me.

W3LL People Altruist Mineral Makeup Shade #11
Working from home a couple days per week, I had a lot of lazier makeup days last month. This mineral foundation paired with my much-loved Cle de Peau Concealer creates a flawless, glowy base in a couple minutes flat! It's packed with skin-loving ingredients and has never broken me out.

Spectro Fragrance-Free Cleanser for Blemish-Prone Skin
Another product that I snagged when my skin was acting up. This fragrance-free non-foaming gel is about as gentle as you can get, yet it leaves my complexion feeling fresh and clean. It's definitely not a  makeup remover, but as a second/morning cleanser, it gets the job done while seriously soothing.

REN ClearCalm3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser
This is my second bottle of this and I am just as happy the second time around. Its clay base deep cleanses and exfoliates via lactic acid, yet it is entirely gentle and never strips or irritates. It's true perfection for my acne-prone, sensitive skin!

Yup, as always, a ton of favourites! I can't help but embrace my product junkie ways!

Did I tempt you with anything? Have you tried and loved (or hated) any of the goodies featured here? What products are you obsessed with lately?

Have a wonderful week! xo

  1. I think the new Cola Pop shade is so unique and pretty that I'd want one for myself. I had one Cheek Pop before but it seems the surface gets hardened over time, which is the only reason I haven't jumped on the new colors yet. Do you have similar experience with them?

    1. The ones I have have hardened slightly, but I don't find that it's affected the pigmentation, luckily. You should definitely grab Cola Pop :)

  2. I remember when I first started to get into Sephora that Too Faced palette was high on my list. It just looks so gorgeous. After getting my feet wet I completely forgot about it though! I should look back into it!

  4. This makes me want to get more into Clinique products. I've only ever used their lash primer (which is great). Those blushes look gorgeous, and I'd love to try that foundation!

  9. Holy snazzlecakes, I can't remember the last time I saw a blush that's been used up that much....A RARE EVENT INDEED. I borrowed 'Deep Throat' off Jenn a while back and swore to buy my own copy of it ever since, but I haven't had a chance to do so yet! It's SERIOUSLY GORGEOUS THOUGH.

Also, you are seriously tempting me with Becca's souffles. Saw the FOTD you did with Papaya/Topaz a while back, and made the trip to Eatons just to swatch them....SO CLOSE TO PICKING ONE UP (and one of their pressed highlighters! UGH)

    1. You definitely need it! It's taken me almost a decade to finish it, but it's almost there! And not to tempt you further, the Souffles are fab! xo
