New Home Priorities: Updated Makeup Storage!

Hi, everyone! If you've been lurking around the blog lately, you'll know that I recently moved in with my boyfriend, which has been an amazing, exciting step. While some unpacked boxes still linger, the decor element I prioritized from the start was my makeup storage. Obvs. I've had lots of fun arranging my beauty bits around the condo and I thought I'd share some shots of the setup with you! 

So yes, I was picked up by the Muji-esque bandwagon. A real Muji store is opening up in Toronto soon (yay!), but in the meantime I turned to Amazon for these two clear acrylic makeup drawers. I really like them! The left drawer houses my go-to face products (foundation, powder, blush, etc.), while the left stores my eye products (shadows, liners, and mascaras). I plan to rotate the contents of the shelves (particularly the blushes and shadows) every few weeks so I can get good use out of my entire stash!  

For my makeup brushes, I found the coolest mug ever! I found the skeleton model graphic  quirky and charming and it's a perfect fit for all of my brushes. 

On the other side of the counter sits my daily skin care products as well as another plastic storage container where I've tucked my favourite palettes of the moment as well as a few other skin care bits. The container fits even my biggest palettes perfectly, which is so handy! 

Now onto the bedroom! The artwork above my dresser is still a work in progress, but the surface is fully dressed! 

On the left is my beauty tray, which I'm using to temporarily store my newest beauty bits, items received in swaps, goodies sent for review, and other cute little bobs. I've also topped it with my floral headband and adorable Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura hand mirror. 

Beside that is my new vanity tray from HomeSense, which fits my perfume collection perfectly! I love how classic and feminine it looks. 

Further down the line is my new lipstick holder, also from HomeSense. It fits 24 lippies and displays them so nicely! I've filled it with Fall-inspired shades that I'm planning to gradually transition into my on-the-go lip bag. Behind it is a MAC lipstick illustration that I purchased from Etsy years ago. I think it frames the lipstick holder wonderfully :)

Finally, we have a slim shelf that displays my favourite body care goodies as well as my entire nail polish collection! 

Like the beauty geek that I am, I've organized my nail stash by colour and I'm very happy with the result! It's nice to finally have all of my polishes in one place- hopefully it'll inspire me to paint my tips more often! 

And the final (non-makeup-related) piece de resistance is this tissue box holder. Adam found it at Value Village a couple years back and I've been treasuring this quirky little treasure ever since! 

What the heck is going on here? Please help :)

It is possibly the weirdest thing that I own and I have no idea what it's all about! I'm pretty sure the writing is Japanese... If anyone out there can translate or explain what this is all about, I'd be forever grateful! 


So there you go! A peek at my updated makeup organization and storage. It's been a pleasure setting up all of my treasures and really making this condo feel like home :)
