Look of the Day: Inglot #3

Hi, everyone! I'd apologize about all of the Inglot gushing lately, except I'm truly and unapologetically smitten and feel the need to preach! So here it is, the third and final installment in my Inglot Look of the Day series. Today's look features shimmery royal-toned eyes, plummy flushed cheeks, and a natural lip. Hopefully it inspires you to get bitten by the Inglot bug as well!

For the eyes, I drew on three of the shades from my brand new Freedom System 5-pan palette. I started by applying a generous helping of Shine Eye Shadow #49 on the inner half of my lid. It really gives the most stunning antique gold glow! I added depth by sweeping Double Sparkle Eye Shadow #459 (a rich, cool taupe) along my crease and inserted a pop of colour with Double Sparkle Eye Shadow #494 (a bold royal purple) on the outer corner of my lid. I also applied #49 and #494 along more lower lash line for some extra drama. For liner, I carried on the Inglot theme, creating a thin stroke with the AMC Eyeliner Gel #89 and finished things off with a couple coats of BeneFit They're Real on upper and lower lashes.

For the cheeks, I opted for Inglot Face Blush #54. It looks like an intimidating, glittery mauve in the pan, yet translates to such a wearable, natural luminous flush on the face! I also contoured my cheeks lightly with the Inglot HD Sculpting Powder #504

On the lips, I couldn't help but use Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy. It's such a gorgeous neutral lip that's a perfect complement for a bolder eye. It also has slight mauve undertones that mesh with the blush so nicely. I really love it!

The Breakdown:

Foundation: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 10 Beige
Concealer: BeneFit Fake-Up in Light (under eyes) and MAC Select Cover-Up NC20 (on blemishes and redness)

Eye Shadows: Inglot Shine Eye Shadow#49 (on inner half of lid and inner half of lower lash line), Double Sparkle Shadow #459 (on the crease), and Double Sparkle Shadow #494 (on outer corner of lid and outer half of lower lash line) and the Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadow in Oh, Honey (as a highlight on brow bone and inner corners)

Eyeliner: Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel #89
Mascara: BeneFit They're Real!

Lips: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy

And a few more shots of the look:

I hope you have all enjoyed my Inglot Look of the Day series! My inner beauty geek has been totally stoked by digging into my growing Inglot stash and I haven't been let down by anything I've tried. I found this Look of the Day especially fun- it really made me feel like one part royal, one part badass. What gal (or guy) doesn't want that combo in their repertoire?!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Look of the Day: Inglot #2

Hi, everyone! You may have noticed that the blog has been a little Inglot-centric lately, but I can't help but gush about the new Inglot Toronto Store and all of the pretty items I hauled after the recent shop opening. My last post was the first installment in an Inglot Look of the Day series, and today's post brings you a second!

This look is all about metallic green and golden eyes, shimmery coral contoured cheeks, and a natural lip. I find it to be another fun Summer-to-Fall sort of look, as I was inspired by both lush, tropical locales as well as autumn woodsy tones. Either way, the look is warm, subtly smokey, and chock-full of my new Inglot goodies!

For the eyes, I started by applying Inglot Pearl Eye Shadow #414 all over my lid, blending up to the crease. #414 is a gorgeous metallic mossy green with a subtle brownish duochrome. Super unique! I blended out the crease by adding some of Inglot Shine Eye Shadow #49 (a warm, olive gold) and popped some of #49 along my lower lash line for some extra contrast. I finished with a neutral deep brown liner on my upper lash line and lower waterline and a couple coats of volumizing waterproof mascara (Revlon Lash Potion Waterproof- one of the best drugstore mascaras I've tried!).

For the cheeks, I started by applying some of Inglot HD Sculpting Powder #504, a pale cool taupe brown, along my cheek bones to contour. It's ultra subtle and really can't be overdone! Works wonderfully on my fair skin. I next pulled out my Inglot Fusion Blush & Illuminator #203, which is a pretty semi-matte coral blush with a corresponding peachy gold highlighter. I applied the blush to the apples of my cheeks, blending upwards, and tapped the illuminating shade on my cheekbones for a touch of glow.

As you can see, the HD Scultping Powder shapes my cheeks ever so slightly (it blends like a dream, which makes it so subtle) and the Fusion Blush &Illuminator gives the prettiest glow! Plus the colour really wears all day- still looked perfect in the evening time :)

The Breakdown:

Foundation: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 10 Beige
Concealer: BeneFit Fake-Up in Light (under eyes) and MAC Select Cover-Up NC20 (on blemishes and redness)
Powder: Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot (lightly on t-zone) and Inglot Illuminizing Pressed Powder #402 (all over)

Contour: Inglot HD Sculpting Powder #504

Blush: Inglot Fusion Blush & Illuminator #203

Brows: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion Original Formula
Eye Shadows: Inglot Eye Shadow Pearl Eye Shadow #414 (applied all over lid, blended up to the crease) and Shine Eye Shadow #49 (blended in the crease and smudged along the lower lash line), Laura Mercier Sandstone eye shadow (as a highlight on brow bone and inner corners)

Eyeliner: Clinique Quickliner Intense for Eyes in Intense Chocolate (on top lash line and lightly on lower waterline)
Mascara: Revlon Lash Potion Waterproof Mascara in Black

Lips: Milani Colour Statement Lipstick in Naturally Chic

And a few more shots of the look:

Once again, my new Inglot products have not disappointed. I likely sound like a broken record at this point, but I feel the need to reiterate that the shades are beautifully pigmented, blend like a dream, and wear flawlessly all day! I think that the HD Sculpting Powder #504 is going to be perfect for my super fair winter skin (as it's even more subtle than my Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder) and the Pearl Eye Shadow #414 will be a perfect festive shade over the holiday season- which is sneaking up, eek!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend :)

Look of the Day: Inglot #1

Hi, everyone! If you've seen my past few posts, you'll know that I recently attended an event at the brand new Inglot Toronto store and that I brought home quite a few goodies with me on the day. I've had tons of fun playing with my selections, so I thought I'd share a little series of makeup looks that I've put together with my new Inglot wares.

Today's look is all about warm shimmery eyes with a pop of turquoise and flushed, tawny cheeks. Touches of summer, while still embracing some richer Autumn-ready shades.

For the eyes, I started with Inglot Eye Shadow Shine #49, a gorgeous antique olive-tinged gold. I applied it all over my lid, blending it up to the crease. For added depth, I swept Inglot Eye Shadow Double Sparkle #457, a shimmery chocolate brown, on my crease and the outer corner of the eye. To spice things up a bit, I ran Inglot Eyeliner #527 along my lower lash line. It's such a fun, fabulous teal shade, that's actually amazingly wearable when smudged under the eye. And it lasted all day long!

For the complexion, I topped my foundation and concealer with Inglot's Illuminizing Pressed Powder #402, which is a neutral beige with fine, subtle shimmer particles. I actually find the shimmer to be so muted that it doesn't quite work as a highlighter. Instead, I've been dusting it all over for a soft, glowy finish! For the cheeks, I opted for the most gorgeous shade of blush for Fall. Inglot Face Blush #25 is a warm, peach-soaked brown that gives the healthiest tawny flush. I fell hopelessly smitten at first stroke!

As for lips (this may be a first), I kept my pout completely bare. Thought I'd let my eyes and cheeks do the talking for a change!

Bronzer: Essence Beach Cruisers Bronzer in Life's A Beach

Highlighter: BeneFit Watt's Up
Blush: Inglot Face Blush #25

Brows: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion Original Formula
Eye Shadows: Inglot Eye Shadow Shine #49 (all over lid) and Eye Shadow Double Sparkle #457 (on crease and outer corner), The Body Shop Colour Crush eye shadow in Oh, Honey (as a highlight on brow bone and inner corners)

Eyeliner: Clinique Quickliner Intense for Eyes in Intense Chocolate (on top lash line), Inglot Eyeliner #527 (on lower lash line)
Mascara: Revlon Lash Potion Waterproof Mascara in Black

Lips: Nada!

And a few more shots of the look:

When it comes to Inglot, you can totally colour me lovestruck. The pigmentation of the products is top-notch and the blendability is phenomenal. I have found the Shine #49 Eye Shadow (the olive gold shade) and Face Blush #25 to be totally unique in my collection and especially stunning. And I'm definitely more apt to pop some teal liner into my repertoire- #527 is worth it!

Are any of these shades calling to you? What are your favourite colours when transitioning from Summer to Fall?

Look out for more Inglot Looks of the Day coming soon :)

Inglot Toronto Haul!

Hi, everyone! Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Inglot Toronto Beauty Blogger preview event and I couldn't have been more thrilled. I'm a huge fan of the brand and the opportunity to peek at, swatch, and play with the wares before the store opened was beyond exciting. In all of my fervour, I may have picked up thirteen a few goodies, so I thought I'd share them with you here today! Inglot products are absolutely top-notch, especially for the price, so I was ultra eager to delve in!

I came home with a pretty stuffed bag of goods, when all laid out looked like a proper haul indeed! All of the products are packaged in sleek black cardboard boxes with minimal white labels:

The first part of the haul may perhaps be the least exciting, but is still an essential element- the palettes set to house the makeup goodies I got! There are an amazing selection of Freedom System palettes available and I opted for the 5-pan shadow palette and the 4-pan cheek colour palette, as well as a round compact for the face powder I snagged. Here they are, just begging to be filled with colour!

Next, all of the colour products I purchased. As you can see, they come individually wrapped in plastic coverings. You have to snip them out to set them free, which is it a bit of an arduous, frustrating process (at least as makeup tasks go). I do wish they were a bit easier to open, but the handiness of the final palette packaging makes up for it.

Now, onto the colour! Up first are the five shadows I selected. I didn't go in with a plan or colour scheme in mind, but I eventually gravitated towards warm-toned earthy neutrals and jewel-tones with shimmery, sparkly finishes. Perfect shades for Fall, I'd say!

I picked up:

Eye Shadow Shine #49 (softly metallic antique olive-toned gold)
Eye Shadow Pearl #414 (shimmery  metallic forest green with brown duochrome)
Eye Shadow Double Sparkle #457 (neutral mid-tone brown with gold sparkle)
Eye Shadow Double Sparkle #459 (mid-to-deep cool taupe with silver sparkle)
Eye Shadow Double Sparkle #494 (rich royal eggplant purple with golden shimmer)

I've swatched them below on my inner arm (MAC NC15 skin tone):

(L-R): Eye Shadows Shine 49, Pearl 414, Double Sparkle 457, Double Sparkle 459, Double Sparkle 494

I also picked up some amazing blush and contour shades. My blush stash is plentiful, so I really went on the hunt for colours that would prove unique among my collection. I also unexpectedly fell smitten with an ultra natural contour powder. It was love at first sight!

I chose:

Face Blush #54 (cool-toned mauve with silver sparkle)
Face Blush #25 (warm tawny peach with a subtle sheen)
Fusion Blush & Illuminator #203 (warm peachy coral with soft shimmer and a shimmery golden peach highlighter)
HD Sculpting Powder #504 (soft matte cool brown)

I've swatched them below on my inner arm (MAC NC15 skin tone):

(L-R): Face Blush #54, Face Blush #25, Fusion Blush & Illuminator #203, HD Sculpting Powder #504

Finally, I snagged my first-ever non-Freedom System goodies from the brand. I was totally wowed by a glowy setting powder and was instantly mesmerized by a gorgeous liner.

I selected:

HD Illuminizing Pressed Powder #402 (neutral beige with a subtly glowy finish)
Eyeliner #527 (shimmery teal)

Here they are swatched on my inner arm  (MAC NC15 skin tone):

(L-R): HD Illuminizing Pressed Powder #402, Eyeliner #527

I'm so grateful for  having been invited to the Inglot Toronto Beauty Bloggers preview event and it's been a total pleasure delving into the goodies I took home from the event. The textures are dreamy, the shades are bold, yet wearable, and, as the top photo demonstrates, they fit so perfectly into their palettes! A thing of beauty, really.

Have you ever tried any products from Inglot? Have I tempted you with any of the shades featured here?

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Veracious Product Review: The HotShop Lip Stick Plumped Sleek Lip Cream Moisture Gloss from Born Pretty

Hi, everyone! Last week I gave a quick intro to the Born Pretty Store, which is a super fun and affordable Asian-based online retailer that features a huge variety of beauty and lifestyle products. They were generous enough to send me two products of my choice (which was a tough call- there were so many cute goodies!) and I have to say I'm really enjoying my selections so far!

Last week I brought to you an ultimately glittery eye shadow palette, and today I'm reviewing an ultra pretty lip product with an uber-long name: the HotShop Lip Stick Plumped Sleek Lip Cream Moisture Gloss #4**. Phew! You can check out this range of lip pencils, here

The Hot Shop range is a clear rip-off of the TopShop makeup line, but that doesn't really put me off. I actually quite like the aesthetic, so no complaints! It came in a mint green box with an illustration of the product inside on the front. It is labelled differently on different places on the box (sometimes a "lip crayon" and others, a "lipstick pen"), but the concept is clear. It's undoubtedly a chubby lip pencil with some ultra cute packaging!

The pencil itself is also mint green with similarly TopShop-esque writing and design. It has a twist-up mechanism on the bottom, which is so much handier than having to sharpen it!

The formula features shea butter, mango seed oil, jojoba oil, and and vitamin E, which all aim to hydrate and smooth the lips. It also touts "LED pixel pigment", which is supposedly a new technology to promote a shimmery, multifaceted look. The website promises that it will make your lips "more plump and charming"- now who doesn't want that? ;)

The shade I chose was #4, which is a warm bright slightly yellowed pink with subtle coral undertones. It has a very smooth texture and a decidedly shiny finish!

Here's a closeup of it on my lips, and then in the context of a completed makeup look:

And for the pros and cons of this cute little lippie:

Pros:
  • Smooth texture that feels quite comfortable on the lips- neither drying nor greasy
  • A super flattering shiny finish that makes lips look full and plump
  • Can be worn super sheer or built up for fuller-on colour
  • Handy twist-up pencil format
  • #4 is an ultra pretty warm pink that's bright, yet quite wearable
  • Super cute packaging- always a pleasure to pull out of my handbag!
  • At only $6.50 USD, this is quite reasonably priced!
Cons:
  • It only wears for a couple hours before a touch-up is needed, though this isn't exceptionally uncommon for glossier formulas
  • Has a slightly waxy texture

So there you go! I've been wearing this lip colour almost constantly since receiving it. The formula is comfortable on the lips and the shade is totally up my alley. I actually don't mind that I have to re-apply fairly often, as it's an extremely affordable product with truly adorable packaging. Thanks again to Born Pretty for sending this great product my way!

If you're interested in checking out cute goodies like this from Born Pretty, you can pop by their site, here! They have a discount code on at the moment for readers of the blog- just enter VIBH10 at the checkout to save 10% off your order. ** This product was provided by the Born Pretty Store for review. As always, the review is authentic and completely veracious!

Inglot Toronto Beauty Bloggers Sneak Peek Event!

Hi, everyone- happy weekend! When I heard that Inglot was opening up a store in Toronto this Fall, I nearly blew a gasket. I'm such a huge fan of the brand, having romped around in their stores in both NYC and Montreal, so was obviously thrilled that a shop would finally be arriving in my neck of this woods. This past Thursday evening, I was lucky enough to attend the Inglot Toronto Beauty Bloggers sneak peek event, where a group of fellow bloggers and I got to peruse the wares before the store was open to the public. How fun! We swatched, chatted, and gushed all evening long and, of course, brought some Inglot goodies home with us.

The shop, conveniently located in Yonge-Dundas Square, was set up much like the other Inglot stores I've visited. One table was completely dedicated to their Freedom System, featuring all of their face, eye, and lip products that can be inserted into customized palettes. We really went to town on that table! Other shelves and tables housed Inglot's amazing nail colours, glitters and liners, and complexion perfectors. There certainly was not a lack of goodies to play with!

The party was made sweeter by a delectable chocolate fondue fountain with fresh fruit. A nice touch, as I certainly don't get to feast on fondue just any day.

There were also makeup artists on-hand creating stunning, artistic looks on some lovely models. Quite inspiring!

We were lucky enough to receive a discount at the event, so I didn't hold back when it came to my selections. Here are my final picks lined up on my magnetic board, all of which will soon find homes in corresponding custom palettes. I selected 5 eye shadows, three blushes, a contour powder, and a highlighter (more on my picks in an upcoming post!).

The beauty bloggers in attendance also got in on the makeup artistry action. Here's my pal Jenn from A Beautiful Zen getting some fierce teal-coloured brows applied with the artist's precision touch. I have to say, she totally rocked them!

Not only was the event fantastic because of the fun demonstration and amazing array of products, it was also an absolute pleasure to spend time with my fellow beauty bloggers and get to totally geek out together. I got to meet some familiar faces for the first time. which is always a thrill, as well as solidify my position as a true makeup nerd and enabling master to some of my more established blogging friends. An excellent time was had by all! Here's one final shot of three of the Jen(n)s in attendance- we were everywhere!

A huge thank you to Inglot Toronto for the invite to this event. It was truly a great time and any makeup fiend's dream!

If you're in Toronto and would like to stop by the shop (you'd be silly not to!), it's located along the south side of Yonge-Dundas Square, right next to the Hard Rock Cafe. The staff is uber sweet and helpful and I'm confident they'd make your visit a good one!

Thanks for reading! xo
