NYC Photo Diary, Day 2!

Hi, everyone! In my latest post I shared with you shots from Day 1 or my recent trip to the Big Apple. Today it's time for some glimpses at Day 2!

Our second day in NYC featured an exploration of midtown, which was still beautifully festive, bustling, and decorated for the holidays. It included killer glimpses of the Chrysler Building all lit up at night...

... and a stop at the famous Marilyn Monroe sewer grate from The Seven Year Itch. Too bad I wasn't wearing my flouncy white dress!

But let's start at the beginning. Day 2 began started brunch at my favourite diner in Tribeca, the Kitchenette. I had an herb and goat cheese omelette that was to die for!

Then my boyfriend told me he was taking me somewhere ultra cool, but wouldn't divulge the location. Turns out it was this fire house. Does it look familiar? If it does, it's because it's the headquarters from Ghostbusters! So cool to see it in person. Who you gonna call? ;)

There was a super cute Ghostbusters sign inside the station as well:

Then we headed up to Times Square. The first stop was the enormous Toys R' Us. It's so big that there's a giant ferris wheel right in the middle of the store!

There was also a giant T-Rex on the upper level of the store, who moved and roared quite realistically. Felt like I was in the middle of Jurassic Park! 

Then we headed out to the heart of the square. Here's my boyfriend taking it in for the first time: 

And me in the centre of Times Square! Feeling small in a towering landscape. 

We then stopped for lunch at Caffe Bene, a cozy, rustic cafe that was far from the typical tourist trap in Times Square. We ate yummy wraps and sat in a library-like nook with super unique lighting fixtures:

And Times Square wouldn't be complete without some shopping! I visited Inglot for the first time and had had crazy fun putting together a custom eye shadow palette. More on that coming up soon! 

We then went a bit further uptown to Rockefeller Centre. I was so happy to see that the Christmas tree was still up. I'd always wanted to see it but had never been to NYC during the holidays. It was quite a sight!

Dozens of people were out figure skating in the centre, which was such a festive sight!

We then wandered into Sak's 5th Avenue (the original!), which was also decorated so beautifully for the holidays: 

We also passed by the Waldorf Astoria, which looked lovely all lit up. Such a classic NYC shot with the yellow taxis out front! 

Next, we walked over the Grand Central Station, another spot I'd never visited. It's celebrating its 100th birthday this year, and you can really feel the history inside its walls. I found it quite breathtaking, especially as it was bustling with rush hour commuters! 

Our final stop of the day was at an amazing restaurant that my boyfriend found for us. Just a few minutes from our hotel, Nish Nush is an Israeli restaurant that makes organic hummus and other Mediterranean treats. Our meal was incredible!

And there it is! Looking back, Day 2 was filled with so many classic NYC sites, made extra beautiful by festive touches and the wintry landscape. It was a wonderful day!
